I play this card in my 99 and to have this come out at turn 2 and do about 24-32dmg over 2 turn cycles is quite crazy, this card wraps games quite a bit and its hilarious

Very intriguing deck, rarely have I been so sceptic and curious of a commander at the same time. It obviously shouldn't work and yet somehow it feels it might could. I'd love to see gameplay of it on your other channel

Like how it is a whole new strategy for cedh, and how it could find a niche in the meta. I play mostly casual and have a tahngarth first mate deck that I pull out sometimes at my LGS with lowered power combat focused meta. Have considered switching over to slicer or including him

14/10/2022Converting a permanent doesn’t affect any Auras or Equipment that are attached to it. Similarly, any counters on the permanent will remain on that permanent after it converts. Any continuous effects from a resolved spell or ability will continue to affect it. Any spells or abilities on the stack that target a permanent continue to do so after that permanent converts.

so to avoid confusion, auras will drop when it is only a vehicle and not a creature vehicle anymore (so when slicer is converted and it is not your turn)

Do you know the ruling on commander tax for Slicer? I believe he still has to follow the rules of commander tax because you're still casting him from the command zone, where as yuriko and derevi get around commander tax because they specifically say put onto the battlefield.

i am confused on the interaction of cards like "Sword of XYZ" as they make no reference to the OWNER of the permanent, and how can you be the "CONTROLLER" of a permanent that is under an opponents control? What ever happened to Karona, False God??

You are the controler of equipments. So you as the owner of an equipment get the value from it. Even tho it is on a creature you don't control.

Cards like trinisphere have within the text swamp activation costs. I thought based off commander rules this deck being mono red you can’t use this card?

trinisphere is colorless and doesn't have any color identity.

Is the More Than Meets The Eye casting affected by commander tax? I'm asking because I know for Yuriko she can do her ninjustu as the same cost so I'm wondering if it's a similar deal here.

it is affected by commander tax. You still cast it. Yuriko is not casted she is using an ability to get in.

How does Slicer work if it's equipped with Helm of the host?

You get a token on your turn. If that tokens follows to the other players arround the table I don't know. I think it dose. But you don't get tokens during opponents turns. Only yours. But I don't know 100% how it would work.

How does tabernacle work with slicer? Is the cost being paid before you get splicer? otherwise its a pretty big nonbo?

You order the triggers as the controller.

The slicer only swaps places in the upkeep step, and the tabernacle triggers get put on the stack at the start of upkeep. So 1) tabernacle triggers get put onto the stack (slicer is still on the other side of the board so the tabernacle will not trigger for it) 2) slicer trigger gets put onto the stack 3) slicer trigger resolves and he moves sides 4) tabernacle triggers resolve, however when the triggers were put onto the stack slicer wasn't controlled by the active player so his tabernacle trigger is not on the stack. So slicer will only die to tabernacle if you yourself don't pay for him, which is basically never going to happen.

Any deck can win in cEDH under the correct circumstances. Much like Winota a card like Slicer isn't getting targeted with spot removal instantly because it doesn't oppose a immediate threat. Unlike Winota this deck folds to removal. Swords of plowshares single handidly destroys the decks entire gameplan. Much like Magda decks like this is >fine< until players catches up on its play patterns. After there its all downhill.

This is correct. It mostly avoids counter magic until you maybe recast roboguy.

You should 100% remove the Winota before it triggers the first time. Typically the turn Winota comes down they’re getting 1-2 triggers. You gotta remove the Winota a couple times to stop the snowball

Doesn't living metal mean slicer is always a creature, so auras don't fall off?

only on your turn. If you are down to 1v1 and don't pass slicer around, the auras will fall off

@@Suavek69 why though? When you flip slicer, and he turns into a vehicle, his living metal says he's still a creature, and therefore still a valid target for the auras.

Slicer's ability is difficult to parse. As I read it, once you give him to a player, that player can simply refuse to pass him further to other opponents, then Slicer "converts" and remains under that player's control. This doesn't sound desirable at all.
