Fun fact: The reason why Mahoraga was punching the air was because It adapted to Dismantle by basically anticipating when Sukuna would attack and get cut in which It would then launch his dismembered limbs at Sukuna when he attacked thats why when ever Mahoraga got cut he would launch his body parts at Sukuna. Sukuna realised this and started to throw feints and fake slashes Mahoraga was anticipating that Sukuna would throw Dismantle thus punching the air to launch his body parts when cut. Then you can see wheel move and adapt to Sukuna's feints and Mahoraga used his own feint and punched Sukuna. Sukuna took perverse pleasure in it because Mahoraga was supposed to be a Devine being and Sukuna taught it to lie that being feints, Sukuna was happy to be able make a Devine being lie thus he smiled when Mahoraga thew a feint and punched him (You can pause and see the smiling Sukuna before the punch lands) Edit: This shit actually insane

Regardless who actually did it it is, in fact, entirely Yujis fault it was able to happen in the first place. If buddy didnt eat the finger none of this would happen. Then he CHOSE to not get excecuted (understandable), understandable or not, his choice still led to this situation. He lost to an "inferior" opponent according to Sukuna, again his inability to get the job he could have done, done, led to the situation. I actually really like Yuji, domt let my diatribe confuse you, but i am actually tired of people giving him the pass in this situation and expecting him to get rewarded for making legitamatly stupid, dangerous, and socially taboo decisions in the end. Off rip yuji is technically a cannibal and has been since episode 1 yet everyone loves him because he is light hearted and kinda dumb in an endearing way. I find the fact he was so quick to be willing to eat another persons finger for power and survival, and not the starving kind, starving would make more sense. I digress its enough to define him as a wierdo to me. All in all, it is entirely his fault.
