When many minds come together, nothing is impossible, think of how many great things have been accomplished through the inspiration of one collaborating with the different perspectives of many others (medicine, bridges, airplanes, space exploration, deep sea exploration). You did justice to someone else's inspiration 😊

I know this is very different, it's definitely not going to be to everyone's taste, however, I have already tried dipping one if these in my dipping resin and it came out looking like Amethyst! 😳 There is potential here 😊

Couple things I thought about while watching; Maybe slide the wire down into the shampoo and then sweeping it up through the resin to get the top that is left open. Also, maybe putting the resin in not in a filled in area but with an open middle so when you swirl the wire through, it's not such a solid chunk to see how that turns out. Just thoughts...! I would try myself but I can't currently afford to be so liberal with my resin as this technique requires. Good job on the projects and I agree and appreciate your open mindset about learning and being inspiring to each other through this video sharing method. It's a strange sort of brainstorming collaboration almost to do things this way, and it's good to seize it as an opportunity, not view it as a creator and poser type of situation, kudos! 👍

It works out pretty cool if you put the wire in first, then put the resin in, and spin the wire as you remove it from the pot as the resin cures too. I agree though, there is no copying in Art, if you reference people, it is inspiration! Awesome work from both you and Duncan! You can also use a slow electric screwdriver to hold the wire, and keep it spinning at a steady rate too.

This is cool Daniel. Once you have the first dip done, you could immerse the piece and draw lines of coloured UV resin on the surface of the shampoo, then slowly pull up and turn the piece to create a pattern.

It is not copying, its flattering to a designer to have someone take their work and use it as inspiration. We all have to learn somehow,so repetition is the best way to go about it. This is so interesting to me,and im so glad ive found your channel!❤

These are so coool!!! Can you do this again but make big spheres with lots of dips (bigger shampoo bottle probably lol). Maybe do one just clear but between each dip attach the nail art powders and on another magnetic nail varnish - it would layer those colours in a crazy way! If they are spheres or other random shape depending on how you build the support structure (could play with the colour wire of it too) you could turn them into lamps which i bet would be epic, highlighting the inner structure and givijg off great shadows!

Hi Dan, I like it so much. Two ideas: #1 Making the top of the wire a T shape may help with the grip. #2 While the crystal is submerged the second time .. no light ... dribble resin down the wire enough to fill cavity void of resin, turn on light and swirl. This is so much fun!! Have a great day.

I love watching your experiments even though resin is not a medium I actively dabble in. And I really respect your attitude that while so-in-so was inspired, and tried something you’d put out as content, it in turn inspired and got your creative juices flowing in turn. 💕💕 I wonder, if you wanted things further up, if you partially submerged the wire frame, then added resin if it would cover the areas you wanted with a little more control? I do love the idea of putting things in a drill to get a more consistent spin… would a dermal or nail file have more adjustable speed settings then a traditional drill I wonder?

Thank you so very much Daniel Cooper!!!! I intended to try resin many moons ago and purchased the resin along with a few other things. Unfortunately life got in the way, so the Resin etc was packed away in the box room. Since then I concentrated on paper crafts and forgot all about the resin, until Marion Emberson gave you a shout out on her channel. After watching only one of your video's I was hooked and have subsequently caught up on possibly all but certainly most of your video's. The video's that intrigued me the most were the petri effect and the sinker. So off to the box room I went, fully expecting the resin that had been sitting there for who knows how long to be useless. Rather than waste money, I decided to see if this resin was still usable for experimentation purposes and it was [it was a good quality resin]. I also made up some alcohol inks with mica powder and would you believe I had some white pigment paste; I was on a roll. Did the necessary last night, and have just de-molded. Almost Eureka!!!!! there was some slight evidence of the petri effect, which of course means I need to work on the sinker [in process as we speak] and had my colours not been on the anemic side [more work required] the final products could have been usable. Actually my test piece, which was a coaster, is usuable, it certainly works with red wine; haven't tried it yet with white wine. Not sure what your background is, but you are a natural teacher!!!! and I speak from experience

@@daniel..cooper actually I am trying to remember exactly who it was but this person created a very well known old song but sat on it and did nothing. No one this person knew had seen or heard it. Then, I think it was someone like Bethoven ended up creating the exact song with no knowledge of the other person. I wish I could remember the exact story, I could be way off, but, on a more personal note: years ago my husband I were living on welfare and were staying in this off season motel. We were the only people there. I had paid rent and later that day a friend offered for us to move in with him which would be much cheaper for us. Welfare for single people in BC Canada is a very tiny amount of money. Right now a single person gets just over $900.00 back then it was around $800.00 for the 2 of us. Anyway, I went to our landlady and explained our situation and asked for our money back but she said she couldn't. That night around 3am I went into meditation and reached out to her in her dreams and told her very strongly but kindly that we desperately needed our money back. The next morning she came to me and said, " I had a dream about you last night and you told me that you guys REALLY needed your money back. I'm sorry that I cant just give it to you but I promise that if I rent the suite I'll give it to you." I was blown away! She never rented the suite, I knew she wouldn't, we were the only ones there so there was absolutely no way it would happen, but we ended up finding another solution and everything worked out. Pretty cool huh?!

You need one of those rotating display stand so you can just keep your hand still and container will move around. 😄

To fill in a gap at the top, what if you dipped it in the shampoo before adding the resin?

Found your videos recently and been watching loads. I did wonder what would happen if you put the wire loop in first then add the uv resin and twist while the resin falls over the loop 🤔

Very cool. I was wondering if you filled the center then do this technique on top of the solid center.

In order to get the top of the piece perhaps you can dip the wire in first, THEN drip some resin in before you turn the UV light on. I find this all fascinating!

I'd love to see an experiment of layers of shampoo and resin poured over ice chips with bits of twisted wire connecting everything. Idea comes from hot wax poured over ice to make holey candles. I think it would make a gorgeous sun catcher.

Just a thought..what if you somehow attach the wire to a small battery operated screw driver on slow to get a steady turn? Thanks for the experiment Daniel. It was fascinating.👍☺️
