Cool trick for UV resin. Neber thought hairspray could do so much. For Epoxy resin, silicone items do work really well. Though, I do rend to wait about 40 minutes before sticking them in.

You are a horrible enabler…I purchased that $150 UV lamp…I said I wasn’t going to but I had a coupon so it stung less 😅

Reminds me of Jubilee kitchen wax. Loved that stuff. Here in Mexico they're both expensive but the Pink stuff is a lot less expensive. I didn't realize that was what it was, thanks! Talking about how your brain works, makes me laugh because I do that all the time. Makes it hard to have conversations sometimes because my brain has made several connections I'm just a pause for thought so when I continue they're clueless as to what I'm talking about.

You can leave the eyelet in. It won’t weigh enough to cause issues. Any figure you dunk will have a varied center of gravity (CG) depending on the shape. The fact that the skull floats flat means that this does not depend on the CG. Also having the eyelet remain in place will make adjustments easier to accomplish when setting into place. If you don’t have a light enough eyelet, you can make a small gripping stick from resin and affix it to the back of the skull. For doing epoxy, you can use the one you made from UV resin and pour 2 part silicone in to make a copy of the skull in silicone. Be sure to embed a gripping tool into the back of the silicone skull before curing. Once the silicone skull is cured, pour the epoxy (filling the skull sockets first) and position it. Use a clamp or support to hold it in place. Once the epoxy is cured, pop the silicone skull out and rejoice.

Hello, I really enjoyed your enthusiasm and tenacity for this project! ...that I also lived. Has anyone suggested that you reverse the mediums for the epoxy trial? Process = using a skull made of uv resin in an oval of epoxy resin. Ps. If I wasn't subscribed as yet, I'm going to before exiting.

I just love you showing the trial & Error side of creating! I already have ideas. I’ve been thinking for some time now about a hollow mold where front & back.. for putting tiny mementos like a baby’s 1st tooth or lock of hair, etc. Also, you may want to try glycerin ; I’ve made things like a snow globe. I’d use that with some glitter or tiny decorative flakes. Looking forward to what’s next!!

Very cool...the pendant looks like a mini lava lamp 😊 So many applicatiins for this, thanku for all your experiments. How about hairspray in the mother mold and then hot glue??

Amazing! Have you tried it with objects not made from resin yet (the button is resin also)? I expect that is the next video 🤣. Thanks for another revolutionary idea 💕

Hi Dan. I watched your video a few days ago but only now feel able to comment. I absolutely cannot stress enough how bloody amazing you are for finding the strength to be dry for 18 months. My OH was a functioning alcoholic towards the end of his life but there were years when he was drunk all the time at different levels. I’m coming at this from your families POV. Sticking by an alcohol dependent, is soul destroying and draining to the point of emptiness of feelings other than defeat. You and your family have been through an absolute sh1tefest but come out together. I wish you all the strength in the world to keep things bright and positive. Be happy together ❤️

You can use sulfur free clay to make the inlay for the skull... you press the skull into the clay, remove the skull and fill the cavity with silicone.
