That park looks absolutely incredible!! I REALLY wish we had a shaded park like this in the scorching hot desert of far west Texas where I live! Shade is crucial when trying to skate in the 110°+ temperatures the summers bring us!! Definitely not easy on a 41 year old OG (old geezer) like myself!!! LOL

@@sk8_or_tie-dye908 I know right! I’ve done a lot of skating in Florida and some of the parks that I lived near weren’t covered …I’d need to bring a couple gallons of water and change of clothes , it was crazy…but yes, this park was phenomenal! About 2 hours away from me but totally worth it
@sk8_or_tie-dye90811 күн бұрын
@frontsidehealth Oh man, I can TOTALLY relate to that!! And out here it's dry heat, like 0% humidity, so the summers are brutal! Luckily, one of our skate parks installed this shower thing that we use to cool off. Also, some of our other skate parks have those splash park things for the kids right by them so we'll use those to wet our heads to try and cool off. Street skating in the summers is tough though. Gotta look for shaded spots or wait until the evening to skate and have night sessions. Battling the sun in the summertime is rough but we still make it happen!! It's perfect skate weather right now though! Haha

@@sk8_or_tie-dye908 oh yeh, always nice when there's a splash park near by. When I moved up to Tennessee, I realized I could learn a lot more tricks during this time of the year because I wasn't sweating through my clothes/shoes and into my board within 20 minutes ...gotta love skate weather!

This looks like an amazing park with a lot to do and a lot of stuff to work up to speaking as a beginner
@frontsidehealth10 күн бұрын
It definitely is! The street section is perfect for learning. The only thing I wish they would have done is build a smaller beginner bowl...I feel like no skateparks do this regardless of how big the budget is! drives me crazy as someone trying to learn more transition
@RedBoard8610 күн бұрын
@@frontsidehealth I don’t mind as long as there’s beginner friendly transition to practice on first. Bowls can take up a lot of real estate vs some mellow transition so it’s understandable But yes, beginner bowls would be nice That’d be a cool concept for a city though. A beginner specific park. Shallow bowl, mellow banks and transitions, manny pads, low rails and ledges, easy euro gap, 2 and 3 stair drops off aforementioned ledges, and slappy curbs And honestly, I don’t think it’d take up too much space if designed efficiently And yes, it’s built for a specific skill level (vs most are to cover more of beginner to intermediate), but even intermediate could use the lower risk obstacles to learn tricks like kickflip to 50-50. And with ankle injuries being a common injury, it’s be a perfect mellow park to skate until you can hit the bigger stuff again And costs can be kept down with the modular stuff. Just need a nice concrete pad Haha, I have AutoCAD experience. I’m half tempted to design this said park
@frontsidehealth10 күн бұрын
@ do it! Yeh a lot of parks could hold off on the ridiculously oversized bowls that no one skates and put a couple little 1-2 footers somewhere , would be so fun

The helmet rules are definitely a lil weird, skaters and rollerbladers over 16 don’t have to wear a helmet but if you ride bmx or scooters you’re required to wear one at any age, it’s definitely confusing that scooter riders have to wear them but not rollerbladers because it’s muchhhhh more easy to get injured on rollerblades than scooters from experience
@frontsidehealth9 күн бұрын
yeh that is pretty confusing, appreciate you explaining though👊

Need an ID to buy alcohol if you look too young. ID if you look too young to see an R rated movie. Theme parks need ID before admittance. ID to buy a car or house (as well as other personal info like salary). ID when checking into a secure facility. Most private skateparks will require ID as well. However, they’re just checking birthdays, state of residency, or making sure you are who you say you are and they’re not running you through a database. It’s just a visual check For the park, it’s prob to cross check the waver you sign. Would be very easy to sign with a fake name, break your arm and sue and say “I never signed a waiver” and get a payout because the park doesn’t have a waiver with your name on it
