In the first year of our #OkavangoEternal partnership with National Geographic, invaluable steps have been taken towards helping to preserve the source waters of the Okavango Delta and to support its communities.
From cultural exchange trips and boat races, to supporting female inclusion and boosting traditional honey production, progress is well under way across the Okavango Basin.
“The type of relationship that we've managed to develop with these communities itself is the biggest result,” says Kerllen Costa, the National Geographic Okavango Wilderness Project’s country director for Angola. “They are guiding us on how they see their future. And I think that itself is special, and it's our biggest progress.”
