God I hate insectoids. They're fast, deal ludicrous damage, take forever to kill, and at times have large numbers. The Armored Arachas is the worst since they can one shot you (even with Quen) and have an unavoidable pounce attack.

I know it’s a bit late, but I believe the reason for the overkill equipment that the Arachasae pack is due to them having migrated from lands where it was necessary, perhaps to fend off other large insectoids that threatened their hives and their queen, which we have yet to see but if it’s anything like an ant queen, *That's a huge bitch.* While Arachasae breed like ants, at least that’s what would make the most sense, it’s still unlikely that they would grow new members of the varying castes without their protective armour and lethal weapons due to other monster species living in their areas and ones that could threaten them, such as rock trolls, Endrega, Arachnomorphs, and Giant Centipedes. This would explain why the Arachasae are as armed to the teeth (quite literally) as they are.

I fucking despise arachnomorphs. One spits a little web and then they all come, land an attack and repeat. They're also just too fast so you can't outrun them. Yrden is very effective as it will, not only slow them, but it will lock them in place (I have Yrden 3/3 on the first skill, so that might have something to do with it) I have found that burning them and then attacking is the best tactic. Once you manage to land one attack it will continue to get stunned by every hit until it's dead. Taking them down one by one is by far the best way. Sorry for the long rant

In your footage, Yrden is blue (It's supposed to be violet) and the grass and trees are much more of a yellow tarnished green (it's looks like a drought passed by, though some life still remained) than in my game. Everything just looks like it's dried up. It looks like everything (but the sky) is colour-grade for dusk in Fall, while still being at noon. I doubt this is a "realism" mod, as Blood and Wine has a colour ambiance different from the main game. When I first started it, the first thing I noticed was the blues and greens. They are the 2 main colours made to be brighter. ... But then again, seeing your footage with enemies while in the main game, the vegetation doesn't look all that horrid (like with the footage in BaW), but it does also look less alive... (also the blood of the giant centipede is green... meaning, not the colour you are actually seeing. But the vegetation also being green, it doesn't break your immersion.) Also, comparing the colour of the sky in your footage and my game, I saw that the colours are a bit different. Yours is bit lighter and cyan, instead of an almost deep blue. So I'm gonna assume you are colour-blind and this is probably a mod to better differentiate the colours you have trouble with. I don't want my comment to pass as a critique, I was just shocked by the colours in your footage of BaW. But good job on the video. It's pretty interesting to see footage of the game with colour-blindness adaptation.

I have a perk in my alchemy tree (might be mutation tree) that allows me to deal more damage, the higher my toxicity. This perk is very op against kikimores, since their attacks increase toxicity. Always use Golden Oriole against any insectoids.
