I know this comment is a year after the video was posted but I've got hooked on watching this older gentleman scrapping all these metals and its inspired me to begin scrapping metal. Not as a job but as a side job that supplies a supplemental income to my main income and ive been really surprised how much you can make doing this with minimal time spent in it. I love watching these old timers that have channels like this. So much knowledge built up over the years and im just thankful for guys like this that are willing to pass on the knowledge to us younger men.

Thank you, that is why I started this channel to share my knowledge and tips. for the new scrappers, and even us older scrappers can still learn new tricks and ways to get the job done. I have learned a lot from other scrappers in the last 3 years. and you can learn from reading the comments too

Your saw blade is too dull and is one of the causes of the saw cut running away. Make sure you have a tight blade also.. It is taking so long to cut you are probably paying more for electricity that the cost of sharp blades... Another trick on those saws is to cut an assortment of spacers to fit beside the item you are cutting and resting against the far side of your vice jaw. The spacer can be close to the size of the item you are cutting but it is best for it to be just a tad longer than the item for best clamping action.... Thanks for your videos :)

I learned scrap from an old scrap yard here in stilwell okla, they called him slim the junker, he had a lot of old methods for breaking down scrap, we used to burn those compressor motors in a stove, and then would pull the copper out of the iron, I've seen all of those examples of junking metals ex.stainles steel, aluminum, brass red and yellow, short iron and long iron, we had an old can baler that would bale aluminum cans into about 35 to 45 lb bales. We used to cut up cars, to get all we could out of them motors, dirty aluminum transmissions, radiators brass copper, aluminum, even heater cores, we would use a propane, oxygen set up to cut things up just old time junking. Rather nostalgic.
