I love that this channel gives equal respect to this kind of small street restaurant with meals for a few hundred yen and high class establishments with menus for 50 times as much.

@@megamcee I know what you mean. A small restaurant like this is a cozy warm place that smells good. On a rainy day the warm kitchen, sounds of TV, a beer and some comfort food all match the qualities of homely coziness.

The first time I heard of Okonomiyaki was in the manga & anime called Ranma 1/2. Ukyou was the best okomomiyaki chef and also the cutest + coolest chick in the story. I always thought she deserved Ranma more than Akane. And Ryoga deserves Akane more than Ranma ... lol. Ukyou’s Japanese actress is the same one for Bulma in Dragon ball. Ranma’s voice actor is the same as Inu Yasha if I am not mistaken.
@emti294 жыл бұрын
Ranma 1/2, thats a name i have not heard for a long time.

@emmanuel pastoral , lol. I read the manga back in the early 90s. Then watched the anime around 2000s. It was one of my first manga and anime along with Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, and Fist of North Star. These manga were actually all from the 80s.

I love the old school environment, like it's not a fancy restaurant or something, the sound from the television fading away the faint traffic noise, food cooking in front of you, the soothing sound of frying and metal clanging against each other. And then there's the food that looks absolutely delicious. I just love everything about this video. 👍

Love Okonomiyaki. I don't remember which location I went to in Osaka myself, but the girl helping to prepare it drew cartoon characters with the Mayo and drew a PIkachu on mine.

If there is a flaw in American cuisine, yes there are many, but the one I speak of is the breakfast only utilization of eggs. Even my wife looks at me funny if I grab that squeaky carton after 10am. Now, many people do the 'breakfast for dinner' thing, and I dig it, but damn it, eggs are just about the most versatile, nutritionally the best value, and easiest to use food on this planet.
