Just stumbled on your channel while looking for some reel repair stuff. Your restoration video of the lake bottom recovery popped up. I love ultralight fishing, and am enjoying your content. I also rather enjoy loading up an okuma rod. In my opinion they are a very good budget rod, and for $67 this rod also seems to follow that pattern. As always, great review Victor!

the emeraldas only comes in big sizes. Its too big for this rod. But in terms of color - yes.

Thanks for the review. If you purchased two it must fit into your lineup. Nice looking action on that rod. Pretty sure like you said the longer butt rods are for placement in rod holders. And can see from your outing somebody ate good that night!

I have been a huge fan of Okuma for close to a decade now due to the immense bang for the buck. In particular, the Ceymar reel which I was able to obtain for around $35 before everyone jumped on the bandwagon was my absolute favorite reel until I bought my Vanford. I was always enjoy watching all of your videos because you always tell it like it is. I bought the Shakesspeare based on your recommendation and I love it, now I have to buy me a SST.👍

The SST 8-6 MH has been a good Carp fit for me. With cork handle think I got it on sale for around $70. Off topic. The ugly stik carbon 7-3 M has done very well for the Carp I usually catch in the 5+lb range. Really enjoy that rod.

I use the 9ft casting version as my surf rod/catfish/carp and big swimbait rod. Got it paired with a 200 size baitcaster reel. I really like the carbon grip. It's a great float rod, live bait, or cut bait rod too. Does really well with treble hooks.

I got two okuma guide select pro rods gsp - s - 802ul is a two piece and the other one is one pieces I like them 👍🔥you need to get this rod Temple fork outfitters trout panfish tps 701- 7” ul 2-6 1/32-3/16 fast stainless steel guides Gary Loomis designed this rod for TFO I got that presso rod pack rod it’s is awesome for blue gill and crappie it’s just right

I just bought that model. I fish mostly for trout. Probably going to pair it with a shimano nasci 1000 or phulger 25 . I really like the shimano. Also have TFO trout and panfish. Really like them has well.

New trend: Cutting down 7 foot rods to 6'7 6'8 --- I do like the different color wraps around the guides. Helps with spotting the load when a fish is on. I see you are fishing with 1.5" swimbaits. Still looking to get onto the new Zman panfish plastics when they are in stock again.

I was about to buy the presso for trout & crappie but now I have to reconsider. Okuma is seriously stepping their game up. The SST (salmon,steelhead,trout) are designed for PNW fishing applications from trolling the ocean to fishing streams. That explains the carbon handle which is common for this type of fishing because it’s resistance to bait, scent, slime and the elements. I have a 10’6 float rod & a 7’6 “twitching jig” rod. Both are salmon rods Medium 3/4 oz so idk why the light action is also rated 3/4oz, must be a typo for 1/4 lol.

can you even find a Presso? The 2 piece rods are hard to find. You can't go wrong with either one, but i honestly recommend owning both

thats what I used. People have fancy cutters... if u have anything fancy u can use that. Its only plastic, nothing strong in it.

my only condition for pairing it is for the reel to be black - thats it : ). Yes, there was a vanquish in this video, but in later videos (trout fishing) i used it with a black color Daiwa Tatula

i actually never weighed it. Its a glassy rod with a solid handle.. its not gona be light.. But the balance is great, and you can further adjust it to your liking

@@ifishcatfish I figured it wouldn't be very light weight. I thought about trying the regular okuma SST rod but haven't got around to it. I do have several of the cheaper Celilo rods that I use for float fishing, roostertails and small crankbaits. They're okay for a budget rod.
