I suffer from major depressive disorder. I have worked through alot of discourse and alot of incredibly hard experiences growing up and sometimes it can take over and do very scary things to you. It's hard but is curable and I been slowly getting back into recording again since last year. Childhood trauma carries throughout your life and there's lots of help in coping and working through it so you continue to live as best as you can. I totally understand where David is coming from as I have been through that same situation that had almost taken my life, and alot of it is also from self coping

Similar-ish story, but I've got the wonderful non-mixed bag of persistent depressive disorder. It sucks, but there is help to be found. "Some assembly required" to get to the point where you feel OK(-ish), but it's certainly better than the alternative (for me and my family/friends/acquaintances).

Same here man. Had a bad spell a few years back and still carry it with me. It's amazing the power depression has over you, but I think the stigma of it being a weakness has long disappeared making it easier for people like us to get the help we need without feeling embarrassed or ashamed. I know we all have our own turning points where we finally feel the need to get right, and my own experience was to write a letter to myself. I know what its like to just have that whirlwind of negative emotions swirling around, but putting the positive on paper and reading it back to myself when I needed it REALLY went a long way to helping me recover. Here's to you and everybody else out there doing what they can to overcome their own demons.

It sucks having to talk about these things but it's crucial. I've battled with depression my whole life and there's no end to it! You just have to change your life so that you're in the best shape, physically and mentally, as possible, and spend as much time with people that are important to you as you can. But as you said, Ola, there is ALWAYS help and you are NEVER alone!

Your channel might not have millions of subscribers but I remember watching your channel 12 years ago and that really helped me to believe that I can accomplish a solid guitar sound at home. Eventually, if it wasn't you, me and my band couldn't record our first and last album! Which was both a great adventure and fun times for me and my band. Keep on doing what you do! I'm following TBDM since their first album and before the covid hit, I was fortunate to see them live in 2019 november and met Trevor... he was a such a nice guy! Had a really good chat with him! No one can replace Trevor's voice, like no one can replace Dimebag's guitar playing, but we need to keep the "flame alive" and these talented guys should continue to make and play music as best as they can (most importantly for themselves).

I too followed them since Unhallowed. I saw them twice. In Atlanta, I saw them at the Masquerade and smoked weed with Trevor. He was the coolest dude. I am devastated at his passing.

I'm an alcoholic (age 25) and it is fucking hard. The only time we talked Ola was on your discord, early in the morning, somewhere around 8 AM. I was fresh out of party, drunk as fuck (remember the drunk polish dude?). Almost died twice, been to ER a couple of times, finally at the beginning of this year I got my shit together and stopped (January 15th 2022). Drinking and mental shit is a fucking clusterfuck that's so hard to get out of. The worst part is actually asking for help. Rock in Peace dude from Soilwork, my heart goes out to you. No one has an idea what the fuck you must been through. If you're drinking and people around you tell you that you may have a problem, please get help now. After a while it is fucking mental, and seems impossible to get out. Hell on earth, for you and your loved ones.

I would actually say that the Dave Mustaine Flying V is the most different Gibson signature guitar in a long time due to the scale length (25.5"), 24 frets, explorer headstock, the control layout. You'd never see a V like that coming from Gibson.

I smoked weed with Trevor and Brian after a show at the Masquerade in Atlanta. I also saw them at Warped tour in Detroit. I was in the front singing every lyric and he put the mic down and let me sing a line. I am devastated that he is gone. He and Brian were so nice to me. It was one of the highlights of my life.

I love Soilwork, was a huge fan of their early albums. I wasn't the biggest fan of their 2007-2010 stuff though. I thought Peter coming back would fix that but he tried and left again. In 2013, David Andersson joined and I swear to god he helped Soilwork sound amazing again. I love his songwriting and his riffs, they're insanely tasteful and infectious. I learned about his passing through your video and it hit super hard. I had no idea he was struggling. RIP David, definitely a guitar hero of mine.

David Andersson saved Soilwork, imo. Sworn to a Great Divide and The Panic Broadcast, though the later was an improvement, was starting to feel like Metalcore by the numbers. The Living Infinite and The Ride Majestic however, blew me away. I always liked the songs where David was lead songwriter, the most, too. RIP

I knew TBDM was going to be back. But didn’t know how. I went to the private opening of The Metal Blade museum in Vegas, that was guided by Brian Slagel. Someone asked him about TBDM and if they were done. And he said that they had something in the works. And he felt what they had planned was the best possible choice. But that’s all he said. And I totally agree.
