Being the "artist" of the group, I was often told that my art looks pretty good, and was later asked to draw things for other people. I'll have you know, I am NOT a good artist, everyone else was just worse than me. (I know that sounds conceited, but stick with me here) Now, when people asked me to draw their OCs, I tried. I would later tell them that I didn't have the time to do it and end up scrapping the drawing I spent hours on. Now, you were in SEVENTH GRADE and your art would be the Picasso of the group. As a seventh grader this motivates me SO MUCH to draw or improve my art, I hope that I get to where you are in the future! Saying you can't even draw stick figures is sometimes offensive to artists so watch out when talking to someone saying things like that about their art because they could be hurt by your words!

If you're doing a realistic-ish style, the proportions are seven heads for girls, and I think seven and a half for boys. Manga is most commonly six and a half for girls and seven for boys. And the crease is downwards from the fore arm towards the shoulder

Same, I'm really bad at drawing outfits. Here's a tip though! Look at different body parts if you can't afford art models. I used to be so friggin BAD at drawing hands, but just look at your hands and practice and then POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM YOU GOT NO BIG SHAQ so now drawing hands is like really easy, also if your drawing feminine hands and you don't have long nails (Like Meh) I always remember Yuri from Doki doki's hands. If you don't who that is look it up!

Guys, I know this is an old vid, but I've always been a sucker for OC's. Emi, your "Suicidal Angel" OC and your friend, Maria's OCs, Scarlet & Midnight; what if they were in the same universe?! There's a gold mine of a story here, possibly one that could be turned into its own anime/manga series; but determining what that story could be is the question... We'd also need a name for it. Also, I got an idea of what your OC's true name could be; The Suicide/Suicidal Angel could be her title. How about, Dabria, meaning: "An angel of death." Hey, why don't us, Emi's fans, come up with something. Be like our own little homage to Emi. We already have all we need to start. For Maria & Midnight, we have Panty & Stocking for reference. And we have Emi to thank for sharing the backstory of her's & Maria's characters. (Btw, Emi & Maria, if you see this and you don't like it; feel free to pull the plug on it. I know how sacred OCs and stuff like that is to most, and how intrusive it can feel to have another person feed ideas and such into it. So, if at any point you don't want this to happen, say so. Star Wolf No you wouldn't. Maybe she's good at drawing and everything, but if we all were like each other, the world would be boring you see? Being different (in some ways, not saying you should be in white clothes at a funeral when everyone else wears black) from others makes everything more interesting. And in competetions for example, people don't think the same way, which means they use different strategies, thus making it a lot more fun. Know what I'm saying?

*_As for me, you can take this tip or if you don't like... it's fine ^_^_* Try to practice with art prompts first, then let your mind delve into imaginations. But like what Emirichu says, always try to learn proper proportions of the body to make it more pleasing in the eye ^^ I only use cheap tools like 15 php sketch pencil, eraser, and ordinary ball pen, but you can literally use everything. Just if you're still learning, try to be thrifty. Then if you think you have improved... try to buy quality materials (I could only mention Copics, Sakura, Faber-Castell [those common things... but maybe there's a better brand than those that I mentioned >
