when i watch this, what i see is someones life , they once had hopes and dreams, i was a community cares for 25 years and when many of the old folk died familys would of of a sudden turn up and let on they give a shit, many times all the photos are just disgarded and i always find that sad, when you look at a photo its a moment in time, some day we will all face that lonely time in our lives when all the friends we once had are gone, i visit a old lady on my road where i live she is 94 and makes me a cup of tea and talks about the past, when i leave i feel so much better, i am 56 and beleive me i feel alone at times, my cat keeps me sane, the point i am trying to make, is time runs out for us all in the end.
@jcaylalove87135 жыл бұрын
Awwww cats are beautiful company! I also worked 13 years with elderly. Their stories made the job so rewarding and yes all the family come out of nowhere once they pass away waiting for their share of their family members estate. That happened too many times! So sad. The elderly in our communities are treasures in my opinion! Too many times I see families fail them, disregard them and use their busy lives as excuses. Sad!

I love these old higgledy piggledy cottages. My great aunt used to live in one hidden away in the woods down south & as a kid I loved exploring it. It was originally 2 joined cottages, her mother in law lived in one, my aunt & uncle in the other. When my uncle's parents passed away, they knocked the 2 cottages into one. I remember as a kid going upstairs via one cottage staircase, and from upstairs you could still walk down the other cottage staircase, but it was boarded up at the bottom so you couldn't make it all the way down, behind the boarding was the living room. The woods its in, had old war shelters & a big lake. My aunt & uncle sold the house for a ridiculously low amount & the cottage is worth over a million quid now!!

What a beautiful old cottage. Two things give the age away - low ceilings/exposed beams and going through one bedroom to get to another. There was obviously a long-standing damp problem, going by the dehumidifier, but that is pretty normal in an old property. Sort the roof and the mould out and its good to go. The poor old man was obviously living in pretty basic conditions at the end. I always find the saddest items are the old family pictures. Presumably that was his mother in the portrait on the mantlepiece. A nice explore, thanks for sharing.

This English style cottage is exquisite. The door hinges/hardware, that kitchen and the tiles are absolutely beautiful. Anna Hickam its very common in farm houses. My grandparents have lived in 2 farm houses( because they have owned 2 farms) and they said lots of their bedrooms were attached. There current bedroom was attached to another but they turned it into a bathroom.

One day my lads you are going to get yourself in deep trouble as I’m sure one day a family member that wanted to keep the house as they last remembered will get to find out you are rummaging around in their house, as much as you think it’s ok and exciting to put this out on KZbin I’m sure you will end up hitting a nerve with a family member that will take the law into their own hands and then maybe you and your house will be featured on tv in the news too,, so maybe it’s not morally good to plaster someone’s personal life on a cheap video channel as we are sure that family would not consent to this violation of privacy ,, hey you never know someone may just go into your place while you are away and film your personal life and wack it on cheap KZbin ... crack on boys

I really like it when these places have been left untouched. It’s really sad when vandals go in and trash the place. I also like to see it when an open window or door gets closed to keep nature out as long as possible. The one was a real gem. Thanks!

You know, it's so funny but , AND PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY, it is just my opinion, but I love the way that you and your team present your work. I love the banter , the camera work, the music, the beautiful properties (big and small) that you visit, etc........but your "low key-ness" (btw ,I am pretty certain this is not a word.) is your greatest strength in your videos. It is like taking a long , slow, walk with a good friend and coming across and abandoned home and just walking in. It's like reading a period novel but you are in the middle of it. I like "Exploring With Josh" to, but there is just so much unneeded drama there. With your channel I just get a whole different vibe. Like you are just being yourself hanging out with your friends and just taking such true joy out of everything you discover. Joy around every secret corner. Your love for it just jumps out at your viewers. It is just so genuine and infectious!! Nothing against Josh at all. It is not my intent to bash his channel in any way at all, he has a following that like his style to. And good for them. I am just stating my opinion and wanting you to NOT EVER CHANGE YOUR APPROACH to your craft. It is perfect just as is. Ya'll's channels are just soooo different that's all. Maybe it's the properties you show us or maybe a British thing, I just don't know. But, Anyway, I'm from Texas what do I know? Just wanted you to know that your style is the bomb and I love it! Lots of love from Texas!!❤️

Looks like an traditional Devon Longhouse, that has been added to over the years. Not necessarily in Devon though. No central heating I notice. No double glazing. Also one of the windows in the second sitting room you went into didn't even seem to have curtains. So, chilly in the winter. Not modernised at all. I like old fashioned places but I think once you get over the age of 40 your body appreciates central heating & draughtproofing. Must have been a tough cookie that lived there, probably loved the land. It is a lovely place & would be great in the summer anyway.

The tree you were wondering about on the way in was an Andalusian Queeze Tree...😂...I'm just yanking yer chain! Haven't a clue. I'm no arborist. But you know what, I was surprised once you went upstairs, I got to wondering with so many bedrooms, and most of them queen sized with two pillows...just HOW many adults lived in that home at one time? (Or did they just play musical beds during the week?) It was a farmhouse so I daresay they had a bunch of kids, so that would explain them for their early years together, but all those beds looked used right up until it was finally deserted. Maybe it's just me but, anyone else find that a little odd.... Otherwise, Dave, you did a wonderful job as usual. Thank you the glimpse into the past of these folks' lives. It's so bittersweet to see what's left behind, what they esteemed, what was never salvaged, but left to time's treason. God bless you for your care and respect. On to the next one. Stay safe! 🙏🙋💝
