My husband is 60 y/o and would have loved to get his hands on this place! He never see's how bad a place or item is, he pictures how much better he can make it👍. He would have said " Get my tools honey🤔! He has some kind of mental problem where he loves to fix broken items. From homes, machines,cars ect 🤣. He's refurbishing a 1983 Ranger Bass boat that was abandoned in 2004. As soon as the owner gave him the title he was all over that motor. Its finished and now he's on the boat. Its looking great! He worked for the same company for 30 years and retired at the age of 57.

That furnis is complete. It's just like mine. I live in a 1967 mobile home that I bought in 1980 for $1000. If you keep mobile homes up, replace parts when needed, they can last. Its the mobile homes that aren't maintained or vandalized that fall apart. You have to maintain them like a car which is what most people fail to do. Either no knowledge or plan laziness. Keep the roof coated, keep the plumbing, and electrical repaired. Have tools and basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge and your good to go😊. I have lived in mine for 40 years now. I've improved it as the years have gone by with newer appliances, laminate flooring, vinyl siding, updated windows and lots more insulation in the walls. All of these improvements have taken place the 40 years I have owned it. It's in better condition now than its even been. It can never be taken from me and I never have to worry about that dreaded knock on my door for eviction and I own the acre of land it sets on. So when I see people getting evicted I wonder why they didn't do what I did. My home is no mansion but its security and allows me to spend my retirement money enjoying life instead of stressing😎

Me being from Georgia, myself, I used to run across stuff like this all the time, but that was back before go- pros and social media. Nowadays everyone has neighbors who will call the cops on anyone around such a place. Or it has trespassing signs everywhere, and I’ve noticed a lot more heavily fenced off properties in the states I’ve been to, even the mountain areas. It’s almost strangely apparent that we’re being corralled into the cities, and away from open free spaces, and if you’re even encountered on one. They threaten you with trespassing. I asked a cop one time, where does a homeless person go that he or she isn’t trespassing?! He couldn’t quite answer the question... so I said, allow me to explain. Every single inch of land in this country is owned by either state, federal, or privately. You take currency out of a persons pocket, then that’s when they try to enforce such a law. Times aren’t what they used to be, this country is losing its history, it’s nostalgia, and integrity over time. After awhile, all this will be gone, bought and replaced with concrete and steel, or sub divisions.

Nice place. Has a lot of potential to spring back to life. Trailer would probably need to be torn down and replaced. Unfortunately trailers just aren't built to last especially those older models. By the looks of it you would have to completely tear out all the flooring and add a new roof and more than likely woodland critters have probably gotten inside the walls and torn up the insulation and that would be just for starters. Outside of the though it's a gem of a property that with a little investment and work can become a thing of beauty again.

It is said that no matter where an abandoned property is, that it is never 👎 truthfully abandoned. I guess somebody could still come back here to live, but for the people who did live here, probably found the location too far away. Don’t try eating 🍽 that peanut butter. Yuck 🤮!! Dumb question but say someone found that and decided to clean and fix it up.. would it be legal for that person to live there? Old saying of "finders; keepers" but would that apply in this case?
@AmericanExplorer3 жыл бұрын
No. The property would need to be purchased, rented, or the owner give permission before someone could stay there. The only exception might be a place that has been vacated long enough to be considered abandoned by law. The length of time varies according to state law, but it's generally a long time such as thirty years or so. Even then, no one can just occupy it. It would have to be obtained from the county through whatever legal process the law prescribes. And there is no such thing as a dumb question on my channel except for those not asked. Futility is a virtue. Meaning, sometimes you have to commit to give up on things, let it go and start anew. I know we don't like to do that but remember it is merely an inanimate object. It doesn't care for you, what you do to it, where it is or what's in store for it. It doesn't care and it will never miss you. It doesn't long to be saved. These are what I learned when it was time to tear down my childhood home of 50 years.

This one apparently still belongs to someone as the registration sticker was only a year old when I was there. I think you were wise in moving out of the trailer you were in. I'm glad yours didn't catch and burn completely, not only for the sake of your belongings but for your safety too. When a trailer catches fire, it usually goes very quickly making it difficult for anyone inside to exit. Thank you for watching!

a trailer can last as long as a house you keep the roof patched.
