This clip, filmed on June 4, 1977, features Austin television personality Carolyn Jackson interviewing Carrie Fisher at the press junket for the film Star Wars. Their discussion covers such topics as the most frightening moment during filming, her desire to be cast in a musical, her Jawa-Munchkin impersonation, tales of the Star Wars cast going out to lunch in costume, and Carrie's many relatives in Texas.

Talk about nostalgia, this interview is awesome! Star Wars was still new in theatres, it hadn't become the biggest film of all time yet. Which it did only six months after release. It was only the 2nd film after Gone With The Wind to do so. Carrie fisher is so beautiful.

Some context for all you kids: At this point in time, if you wanted to watch a movie you went to a theatre. If you wanted to see something on TV you had to be watching WHEN IT WAS BROADCAST. Otherwise you waited until it was re-broadcast. Yes, home video recording existed, but in reality nobody had it. If there was nothing on TV and you didn't want to see a movie, you read something or did stuff, often with other people.

That was actually a good interview, even if it felt like she was talking to someone's mom instead of a professional broadcaster. The part about doing musicals was heartbreaking - it made me remember that at one point she was supposed to do a revival of Guys and Dolls with John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, and Gilda Radner. That would have been incredible. Sigh.

Maybe she'll still be in the movie, but if they're not going to use CGI or recast her then they might as well show her in the coffin dropped dead in the movie instead. I mean what choice do they fucking have?! O.o
@alexh4319
@alexh4319 8 жыл бұрын
That'd be horribly in poor taste. This isn't a perfect comparison but just handle it like Nolan did with the Joker in Rises. Nolan didn't recast or do any CGI- he just left the character alone. They could kill her offscreen and just say she had a writte Though I do think unlike Nolan they will mention Princess Leia since she's too integral to the overall narrative of the new trilogy. *****
