I was born in the 50's, and it wasn't until the 70's that they actually tried to entertain you with funny, ironic and strange even racy commercials. These are good examples of that. They kept trying to outdo themselves thankfully. Most TV's didn't have remotes, so you were forced to watch/listen to these over and over again.

The spicy meatball for Alka-Seltzer is the funniest commercial I have ever seen. And, as to Ann Miller what can one say? Positively wonderful! One expensive commercial..... also, Bing Crosby did another minute maid commercial where he ended it by saying, ‘When it’s Minutemaid, there’s no doubt about it’, in his special low voice. And, is there a better ad to define the 70’s than The Teaberry Shuffle? SHADES OF Burt Bacharach and Herb Alpert?

The Camay spot: my gosh, that was the first place I had ever heard the famous love theme adapted from Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" ballet score. Imagine, commercials teaching kids about music. Almost choked when I saw this -- first time since it was a current ad.
