He is one of the best in my book, especially for metal. I've yet to see other drummers in the metal scene reach the same scope of technicality. The polyrhythms he plays are way beyond the comprehension of other musicians, especially outside of jazz, djent and mathcore. Imagine Dave Lombardo trying to play this song. He would give up instantly.
@LK-dz6pb3 жыл бұрын
He's the absolute legend, indeed! Particularly in the ability to apply his mind-boggling technical excellence for MUSICAL purposes, let alone in the Car Bomb's purely innovative way! I'm sure with more exposure through some collabs with other bands, Elliott will get the recognition he deserves.

Most definitely. I love how the way they utilize those somewhat forces you to reflect on what they're playing and saying with the phrasing of the music in a way I've never really heard. I'm quite sure they don't just pick a time signature for the hell of it because it sounds cool. There seems to be a deeper intentionality behind the construction of the songs. It's like they know what you think they're saying, and right when you think you understand they bring up a new point that you need to wrap your head around. You're definitely not going to be able to just turn this stuff on for the first time and straight rock out to it.

I wasn't expecting you to get to Car Bomb this soon haha. This is from their 2nd newest album if I remember correctly. So kind of from the middle of the discography, but that not necessarily a bad thing, because this is their best album IMO. For next song, I'd recommend "Sets". That one really messes with time right from the start.

God the 7 string tone on that whole album is some of the best ever.

Hey man, cool to see some mathcore on here. Since you seemed to jive with it you might be interested in checking out Rolo Tomassi. They have some purely melodic tracks, some tracks of pure screamy chaos and a bunch that synthesise the two to varying degrees. Stage Knives or Flood Of Light would be a great starting point.

Your face is like every musicians face their first time hearing car bomb. Trying to count it, comprehend it, accepting it. It’s an amazing experience.

If Dir En Grey - Vinushka is on your list of upcoming new bands/songs then, perfect! :) ;) Car Bomb is a very interesting band, one of the best representant of the Mathcore scene along with The Dillinger Escape Plan (another band that you should definitely check out). I don't know why but this song gives me a Deftones vibe and that was something I would not expect from them. Kepp the great work man!

These guys are amazing. From what I have read they all have tech jobs that allow them to fund their music without alot of label support. They build their own microphones and such from scratch. Great video!
