Great cook Al - how much wood did you go thru - I am sure the insulated firebox helped
@AlLunacyQing10 ай бұрын
Yes, it did - went thru a little more than half the box. It would have been less if it wasn't so windy! Thats why I had to damper the stack because the draw was pulling strong.

Wow, The G2 maintained 300 degrees for 6 1/2 hrs with 1 bag of lump and maybe 1/2 box of splits in that wind. I'm looking hard at this cooker. Was it losing temp every 30 min so you added a split every 1/2 hour or did you just add out of practice? Great Cook Al thanks
@AlLunacyQing10 ай бұрын
@@RayHarris-z5e Yes. It would go down to 250-275 if I didn't add a split . Thanks for checking it out! 👊

Good looking brisket. That insulated firebox must be great on wood consumption. That GWP kiln dried wood from academy burned really fast in my OC wrangler. Good job on the brisket.

Wow!!! That fat rendered excellent for the fast cook. Thinking it was the 300 degree that made it happen? If was prime do you think you’d gotten the same results?
@AlLunacyQing7 ай бұрын
That's a good question. Usually prime cooks quicker. I might just have to try it! I think the size of the brisket had a lot to do with it. Smaller briskets just cook better than those 15 lb briskets.

@@AlLunacyQing Heck yeah!! Got it! Thank you so much. This will be my first offset. I heard you’re from south Texas I’m from San Antonio and the company I work for host a bbq cook off at the end of the year so I want to see if I can participate.

@@SamZson777 Yes ! I'm from the RGV. This offset should work great for that cookoff. Just get to learn the smoker from here to then. I will have a video in the coming weeks of all the add ons I have bought for this smoker. Cheers bud!
