fascinating…Like you, I enjoy finding out what makes something tick. I have a 1913 pianola filled with wooden pegs / metal dowels and such. It’s remarkable to know what precision / craftsmanship went into the making of these pieces. I remember reading somewhere that at this time it was common for “technicians” to actually go to school to learn how to maintain / repair these instruments. Sadly, long gone is this talent and craft along with those who knew this trade. Wonderful hobby, Scott…Thanks for the visit.

My grandfather restored a player piano and it was his pride and joy me and my kids loved to play it every chance we got . His favorite rolls to play were polkas.

Fun Scott 🎶sorry I missed this live. I was that alto in the Ridley high school choir in 1984 who was flat 😂I love learning new things from you. Your organ playing was pretty awesome to my ears👂.I forgot all about the vintage doll house. I agree make doll house wiring safe and minimal restoration. Some Dad or Grandpa is smiling down on you for treating the little house so caringly.

Hi Scott, you playing the organ reminds me of the small electric organ I had as a kid. I enjoyed it but over the years, it is gone. Also in our spring house we had a big black organ I loved as a kid. It's long gone gone but my Dad made a small table and used one of the pieces from the organ as the post. Thanks again for the music lesson.

I'm always in a happy place when Scott removes the back from an old radio, or whatever, and takes us on a live tour of what lies within. This was great fun. The crystal bead light fixture for the dollhouse dining room is perfect, a great find. And here's a quote from my idol, Henry James, "Summer afternoon ---- summer afternoon, to me these have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language." I want that engraved on something in my rose garden. Thanks so much for including us in your various projects. If you're ever in Grand Rapids, I'll share mine with you!
