(OLD) Dota 2 For League Of Legends Players Explained In Less Than 5 Minutes

Dota 2 is a very complex game, especially compared to its main competitor League of Legends. Players who attempt to switch from one game to the other can get easily overwhelmed by the amount of changes. This video seeks to explain the differences between the two as quickly as possible.

Some other Dota 2 stuffs for League player, from someone who mainly play League. 1. You can deny creeps and block them with your body, causing them to walk to lane slower 2. Turn rate, so moves are not instantaneous 3. Towers hurt much less here, so don't be mad when enemies towerdive and kill you or tank 129489 towershots and don't die 4. Creeps can attack jungle camps 5. HP regen and Mana regen is much higher here than in League. But so is mana cost. 6. You don't press B to recall. Want to get items? Use courier. Don't waste your scrolls. 7. You can stack jungle creeps. Some heroes are better at clear jungle camps than the others. Plus, you can clear whatever camps you want, because Dota has no red/blue buff/scuttle. But beware, some camps are stronger than the others, especially the one near Secret Shop. Plus, no smite. 8. Ah yes, Secret Shop. It's near toplane/Roshan if you're on Radiant side and near botlane on Dire side. 9. You can buyback when you die 10. Here, crowd controls last much longer than Morgana Q and, the area indicators of skills are less clear compared to League. 11. So many point and click skills. So much invisibilities too. 12. Every heroes have mana. 13. Sentry Wards (the blue one) =/= Control Wards, keep that in mind 14. We don't have AP (ability power). But we have magic amplification, and some skill also have other types of scaling like attack damage, intelligence, and missing mana. 15. We have no bush. We have trees. 16. At toplane and botlane, both team's minion aggro don't stop at same range in front of each team's respective turret, but closer to the horizontal turret. This is useful to remind you where pos 1 and pos 3 are supposed to be. Edit: some added stuffs 17. 'Why are my Drow Ranger (read: ranged heroes) auto attacks simply miss even when I attack those creeps?' 'That's because your standing position lower than them. They have high ground/terrain advantage, which causes your attack to miss' 'Oh, I see'

@@disrrpt8546 there are extra outposts now that cant be captured, glyphs are now refreshing after every first tower of each tier falls, completely new attribute has been added which caused position 4 to change the gameplay due to the scaling, roshan has been moved and now there are two pits, bkb has been reworked, new objective has been added (tormentor), wisdom runes have been added, lotuses have been added, block of cheese is a thing and many many more. It's not only terrain change.

One of my main confusions as a League player is understanding the game state based on time and what to do. I primarily play ADC in League but the few times I've played dota 2, I've liked playing pos 3. In league, the laning phase usually lasts 10 to 15 minutes or until the first tower is destroyed. During that time, there are two objectives to group and fight for; dragon on the bottom side of the map and rift harold at the top side. You can expect to do these objectives every 5 minutes or so. What are the equivalent team objectives in dota? I know that pos 1 and 2 farm a lot but why does the team need to fight outside of Rosh? Are there any good resources that explain the game state and what to do throughout the game? I know that pushing towers to get to the enemy base is the obvious goal, but usually that requires getting a kill or two. As a carry, why would you ever fight with your team? As pos 3, 4, and 5, are you just looking for kills outside of laning phase?

Dota is a lot more freeform when it comes to objectives. So basically, yes to your last question, but also consider that the jungle being for everyone and not just "the jungler" means that map control is way more important. If you can't fight the enemy and can't Rosh then your whole team should seek to control the enemy's jungle, giving you more resources while also depriving the enemy of *their* safe source of resources. This forces a response from the enemy so that you don't gain a massive xp and gold advantage and just steamroll them. How and when you do this is dependant entirely on your team and what they're capable of.

I will try to explain. There us 2 bosses - Roshan and cube whose name I dont remember. There is 2 cubes so fighting for it is very rare. But Roshan is very important, one Aegis can end the game. Also, Dota is MUCH more strategical than LOL. Amd thats the reason it is less popular - LOL is about quick and interesting fights, while Dota's battles are usually won or lost even before it started. Like, in LOL you can easily enter enemy's forest and nothing will happen. In Dota invading enemy's land without vision and invisibility will most likely end with dying of all your team. And thats why towers really matter in Dota. You should think Dota is a classic strategy with a land conquering. Every team share map like 50/50 at start. But one tower dramatically decrease your "land". You can retake it for some time with wards. In other words, land which you can observe and reach easily in your land. Thats why it can result in 5v5 fight for a T1 tower. Also, loss of T2 tower result in enemy able to take your outpost and fully control your forest and easily reach it. Losing forest is a very huge L in Dota, cus your only safe zone is highground, but enemy can farm your forest and get more powerful. Also, this "conquered" land gives you a dramatical advantage. As i said, in Dota a fight can be won even before fight happened. One good ward can result as a successful fight and fall of enemy's Ancient. It is very short explaination, but, playing Dota more, you will understand how strategical it is, and understand what I said here.

I played 500 hours of Dota, I still don't understand how bans or lanes work in this game (what the hell is a tri-lane?). The two major things I dislike about Dota is that players refuse to fight in the end-game and stretch games as much as possible (with the recent update making the map like 30% bigger it's going to prolong the matches even more) preferring to farm and never capitulating on any stray kills and supports having to de-ward in order to have a decent income putting them at a huge risk of being ganked, and we all know how great that is if the team isn't rotating or responding properly.

Tri-lane is when three heroes are in a lane during landing phase, usually the hard support shifts into offlane if the carry can solo lane to get him more exp so he can scale faster. Also, since you now have three heroes in your offlane/enemy safelane, you can now apply more pressure to the enemy carry, denying him exp and gold.

I mean this stuff doesnt even help a league player really lol the things that start hard is controlling the camera, Tower agro, Turn rates on heroes, Blocking creeps, understanding the last hitting method, denying, pulling monsters to creeps, mana, buying stuff in lane, not understanding abilty and being against people with 5000 games and 3000 ranked games. I once died inbetween tier 2 and 3 tower with tier1 still up and someone said you cant step up that far what you mean i cant step up that far im not even in the lane lol.

I’ve been playing League for a decade now? Basically too long, actually quite happy I saw this video, I really doubt I’ll ever touch it but it did change view on the game, it’s as hard or harder than league to grasp for beginner/intermediate players. in my opinion the game has a different art style which I do not like I think league looks better in terms of graphics and map design. But for what a 5 minute video can provide information on a completely new game I’ve never played, sounds interesting and understandable why people would waste as much or more time than me on league of dogshit.

I have played both for 6 years each :) i can telll you with all my heart both are pure g@rbage and at the same time both are amazing :3, League is faster, more tactical and one player can shine more than the whole team, dota 2 is more based in estrategy and team cordination the team shine togueter (and thats why i left dota2 XD if you have the 90% bad luck in your rankeds like me playing with peruvians and so on, leave dota2 and get a job or study something, dont touch league also cause is very frustarting when you are a noob in the middle of players like me XD regards)

I think they have had some sad life experiences or whatever thing i don't know of. I supouse this throubles allong the way, are the main thing that makes them addicted to dota. And thats why its full of peruvians, and of course, they play really good (because they are more, its an statistical obviousness)
