I met David in a Mexican restaurant just prior to his going on stage in Cotati, Ca. as a member of the Joe Ely Band and I asked him about the guitar he was playing because I did not recognize the brand and he said it was a Paul Reed Smith and it had been given to him by the factory. He said it with genuine amazement In his voice and he killed it that night with a PRS.

I had to sell my antique white/ ivory DGT. And i was devastated . It was hands down the best guitar i had ever played. But i had to or be on the street. And the sad part is, now i will never be able to afford another...So my advice is to get 1, and hold onto it with all your might.

I have a Strat that has the modern deep C neck on it an its my perfect neck. My PRS Modern Eagle is slightly wider but definitely has a more rounded C shaped neck than any PRS I have played. My Modern Eagle 1 is my favorite guitar and gets played every day. I may have to check out a DGT because Davids description of his neck sounds like my Strat.

I would really love to see a limited run DGT with oversized exaggerated fire ants crawling up the fingerboard. I would also really love to work for the team at PRS. I have been a sign designer/fabricator for 20 years. I can draw anything on the computer to scale quickly.

A few years ago I was on the search for my next PRS (I had a Custom 22 years ago but regrettably sold it). I spent MONTHS looking at every Wood Library Dave’s Guitar had in stock and even created a list of all the ones I was considering. However, every time I went in i immediately gravitated to the DGT. So much so that it became a joke where every time I stopped by they’d say “You wanna play the DGT, don’t you?” To make an extremely long story semi short, I bought it without even knowing who David Grissom was. It was simply the best guitar. I have gone back and explored his catalog, but I feel like that says a lot about the incredible work he and Paul did. It has become my favorite of all the guitars I’ve ever owned.

I’ve been following all the DGT videos and reviews. Got may hands on the SE DGT several months ago. Liked so much I had to get the core model (3 days ago). I have beautiful Les Pauls, a 335, SG’s and Strats. The DGT blows them all away. I am a PRS convert and now have 3 core models and a CE 24.

Paul ...my favorite quote from you was when you nailed the pick ups, and people wanted to buy them and how much were they. You said they cost around 5 grand because they come with a guitar with them. Great line.

Paul’s passion comes through with all his guitars. David proves that PRS guitars have soul because soul comes from the player though the instrument. Paul’s guitars are built to the highest quality. My Modern Eagle is my number one go to guitar.

So Paul, why is Billy Gibbons not part of the PRS artist family. Seems he would be an optimal candidate. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has thought about it.

Love the content lately PRS. You are still changing the game. I was wondering have you guys ever done a single pickup (Traditional dogear type P90)? I am really digging the simplicity of these guitars lately and want to get PRS' take on that growling legend and see how ya'll can make it better. Cheers guys.

THINKING OVER THE FIRE ANT FINGERBOARD, I have decided that at the top near the 3rd or 4th fret it should look completely broken, almost hanging off. All of these effects achieved by gorgeous wood inlays.

I was disappointed with my DGT, amazing guitar., sounded awesome but the trem would not stay in tune, took it for several setups, nut work, etc but I could never get it to stay in tune, so I sold it. It was the only trem equipped PRS that I have owned with this issue. I play a 513 now that plays like butter and stays in tune but it doesn’t feel or sound as good as that DGT

An amazing guitarist, feel and tone all the way. Don't like the necks on the standard PRS described as wide - fat. Maybe the DGT different but probably for a few dollars more! 😄
@prsguitars5 жыл бұрын
You are right, David is truly a one of a kind player and his guitar reflects that in its specs. The neck shape of the DGT is designed specifically to David's preference and can only be found on a his signature model. It is different from the old "Wide Fat" neck profile you referenced.

David Lund Thanks for your info. I had an all mahogany LP special and it was pretty dark, that’s the another thing I’m worried about although I think the stock Korean pickup give that impression because they sound dark even on the s2 with the maple cap.
