where would you wire up the positive and negative wires on 2 separate battery jump posts installed specifically for easy access to charge each battery? battery jump posts like the kits found on amazon for 60-90 dollars. do you connect the + and - wires directly to the ignition as well as separately directly to the accessory battery's + and - posts? you should consider selling a modified battery cover based on the Battery and ECU Cover Set found on amazon for 60-70 dollars. I want to buy both - your dual battery kit wo the battery and that cover set since a 30k cam am doesn't come with a 20 dollar battery or eco cover for some incredibly cheap reason. also, when i see a utv as clean as yours is in the video i can't help but wonder what you guys are thinking.

To answer your first question, when you're running two jumps posts you connect one jump post directly to one battery and the other jump post directly to the other battery. You also have the option to run a standard battery tender to the 2nd battery. The main purpose of the jump post is to make it easier to jump start a vehicle if the starting battery goes dead on the trails. Unfortunately, on can-ams they dont make it easy to remove the seats quickly; therefore, the jump post was created. To give you some feedback on your 2nd comment, the purpose to fully enclose your batteries is completely unnecessary. Those covers you see on amazon have vents to help with heat; therefore, dirt and water still get to the batteries. I assume that would be the reason why these 30K can-ams don't come with battery covers.

@@UTVStereo thanks! the main question I was wrestling with was how do I ensure both batteries are being maintained in a dual battery setup when the x3 is not running for extended periods of time. the remote battery posts, one for each battery, seemed like a good idea. agreed, the x3 batteries are in a tight spot in the rig, but the remote post kit is sweet, so why buy two.. and as far as why can am decided not to add covers over the battery and ecu... not sure but the area actually appears unfinished. the area is marked up nicely for the covers, they just weren't included.. conspiracy...

I bought your second battery isolator kit and installed per your directions. I also installed the Rockford fosgate stage 5 stereo and installed. Do you run your hot leads for lights and stereo to something other then the factory buss bar. In order for me to currently use my lights or stereo I have to push the round ignition button to turn on my accessories, which also engages the isolator for the second battery. Oh by the way i have a 2018 x3 max. Please advise what I may need to do to ensure I don't drain both batteries at the same time!
@atmrtnez6 жыл бұрын
Mike Fischer did you ever test this? If you are needing to hit the key on button then I presume you used the connector under the dash for head unit power (which fosgate recommends). If so, only the head unit should be pulling power, the amp and speaker will draw from the secondary battery. The only issue I see with this is the time out of the ignition switch on the x3 that will cut power to the head unit when the engine isn’t running. Hope this helps, let me know how it’s been working out for you, as I may order this kit as well. Thanks

can you explain, i have an isolator, and sometimes i can play my stereo with key on engine off for a long time but sometimes only for a few second and then it shot itself off, thanks...
@Bassboy19726 жыл бұрын
But when you’re parked and you drain the second battery there’s not enough voltage left to actuate the isolator to reconnect the 2 batteries. How do you manage that?

Stock batteries are junk, mine only lasted 11 months, on a Battery Tender 90% of the time it wasn't running. No stereo or and constant power on aftermarket accessories. Get an Odyssey PC925LMJ. Done and good for 3 years. Factory battery warranty 6 months. Unless your into pulling your passenger seat and buying new batteries every year. Just saying.

Is this option better than two battery kit???
@XSteele5 жыл бұрын
@@georgejauregui1591 Good question. 2 batteries cost more initially and to replace. Depends on your voltage draw, I guess.
