I have a 6yo Silky terrier and after their first hair cut his coat never grew back the same; do you have any tips to help get his coat back?
@aprilm9551 Жыл бұрын
What you describe shouldn't happen for a your dog type. Though perhaps he got his first haircut at the same time that he was in the process of loosing puppy hair and growing in the adult hair. It can change in color and length, possible texture as well.

What type of shampoo is it that it doesn't sting the eyes?
@Dognormousllc2 жыл бұрын
You can get a tearless shampoo that helps them not stinging, however, that doesn't mean that shampoo can't scratch the cornea. You'll really want to make sure you wash the face out really well, or add eye drops to help protect the eye during the shampooing phase. Frothing the shampoo makes it easier to control than just mixing it with water in a mixing bottle.

I wish I was that good with scissoring. I would have cut off an ear that fast!
@Dognormousllc4 жыл бұрын
Slow and steady will get you safely through it. You can see I hold the ear so I can feel if the dog is going to make any sudden movement and in which direction they are planning to go. Then you hope for the best split second decision

I would be upset with you if you did that to my Silky Terrier. They are to have a straight part from their nose to their tail. Only combing and brushing is needed until their hair reaches the floor. Daily brushing is called for. Most groomers have no clue. I think you are one of those.
@MA-cy7su2 жыл бұрын
Lynn, what do you do with the eyes / the face?
@Dognormousllc2 жыл бұрын
With my show silkys and yorkies, that would be the process of their grooming. However, she is a pet groom and her parents want a shorter trim. While your assumption of my client's choices may appear to you like I have no clue about breed specific grooms, your comment makes it appear to me that you have no clue about the grooming world. Hopefully your rudeness doesn't reflect your ignorance and people can find the brighter part of the comment that is actually helpful.
