I never met Frank but he often posted on local Facebook pages and he was obviously a fount of knowledge on past Leith and sounded like a lovely bloke. Was sad to hear he died not long after Mary Moriarty, another Leith legent. RIP

I went to Trinity Academy Primary and we used a slate and slate pencil in 1956. The headmaster was a big man called Mr Brown and my first teacher was Miss Campbell.

Great video Frank and great memories. My dad Jimmy Crean had the newsagent shop, next door to the Ard record shop in Great Junction St. My mum Nan had the wee sweetie shop along the road on the other side.

Mike could you please try to join Oldleithers reunited on Facebook. A lot of people knew your Parents. Be aware, you have to answer the questions posed to allow you to join.

Mike, check out Old Leithers on KZbin. It’s another short film. You might see people who you know and will certainly see people who used your Dad and Mums shops

Mike, I’d be grateful if you could possibly email me on whyte.g@hotmail.com I’ve mentioned your name to others and they would love to know more details about your Parents. Especially from Prince Regent Street.
