i saw john mayer perform this live and he performed this lick that i've never heard before, until i saw this.... its like 10 seconds in, i've seen tons of covers and the only person i've seen do it is him. surely, this has to be mayer....
@TheDonnyWaas8 жыл бұрын
No, this is far from Mayer my friend

Ignore the hate, most of this is a rip off of Mayer doing old love, not that it isn't good
@OmeyrABD8 жыл бұрын
+Hunter Manchuck actually, you have to admit that a lot of guitarists (even guitarists like Eric Clapton, John Frusciante...) "stole" a lot of licks. It's more inspiration than stealing but it's a thing to admit. I don't know Mayer very well but he probably used a lot of stuff that wasn't his
@chippchipp16 жыл бұрын
+Max Henley Not true at all, if Mayer, Clapton, Stevie, Peter Green, etc. recorded videos in the comfort of their bedrooms, they would be just as good as this guy if not better. But they're on stage, it's completely different

+Christian Nicely Old Love is the reason I started playing guitar. The 24 nights version is the best thing to ever happen to music. Us real lovers of music know Robert Cray wrote it with Clapton. I saw Robert Cray in like 08 in Fl and he was AMAZING. This song was written about Patti Boyd too making her the chick with the most songs written about her history. Chick mustve been dynamite in the sack.

My playing has sky rocketed just from learning pilky's cover of gravity. If you're serious about guitar you'll make time. As you progress you'll get faster at earing it out.
