Thurl 'a got the best tone and singing imo. Also he could vibrato notes like A1. The G1 you hear is off mic and live so that's why it sounds quiet.

@reubenthomas79074 жыл бұрын
@@matthewdockray9745 Their just about countable as Barry White's F#1 or Leonard Cohen's E1. As Thurl isnt technically singing, but is speaking , and that part right at the end" I'm tired, I cant sing anymore", he's acting that part. So it's hard to say, but in his prime, I think he would be able to make the E1 sound like Londons Eb1 note if he tried . Yeah that would the end of his register.

@@matthewdockray9745 London has a chest Eb1, I don't believe a tipical bass or a bass-baritone could go that low in pure chest voice, also, he had a loud low G. J. D Sumner's voice was demaged, but he also could go that low, I imagine he could that loud in his 50ies If his voice wasn't being damaged.
@matthewdockray97454 жыл бұрын
Reuben Thomas I don’t see how Thurl can be higher up the list than Tim, avi or even trace Adkins. Trace Adkins is a bass or sure, but I wouldn’t say he’s “lower” or darker than Thurl. Tuukka’s mixing around D2 depends on the phrasing etc. He can venture comfortable down to A1 in full chest and has gone down to G1 in chest in a live situation too, though he says even his lowest fry notes have some sort of support on them. If he’s doing a phrase that requires him to go to say A1 with any sort of power he’d start a mix around D2 However, I also think that trying to categorise all these non-operatic singers into such specific groups is a waste of time seeing as they’re not opera singers anyway and it’s quite difficult to apply the terms to such vastly different genres of singing. Imo, baritone, bass-baritone (maybe), Bass, and profundo is all you really need when categorising low voiced male singers. Even in most cases outside of choral and operatic stuff I feel like Profundo is a sort of redundant term
@reubenthomas79074 жыл бұрын
@@matthewdockray9745 Exactly my friend. There's some problems in this list. Apparently Tim and Avi have more weight in their voice,hence they are classified as lower voicetypes. Timbre, range, projection, resonance are all secondary to the vocal weight that Chris is talking about.
@alebormio48424 жыл бұрын
Reuben Thomas well that list is all wrong, there’s no way for Geoff to be a light lyric baritone or Thurl a baritone. Only Tim Foust and Barry white seem to be in the right classification
