This was the type of video I’ve been looking for. This is the exact setup I want to do to my Tacoma, I’m currently running 33s, timbren flip kit with the iron man 4x4 lift but it’s too stiff for my taste. How’s it holding up?
@AllTerrainFamily Жыл бұрын
Holding up great! Check out the new ARB MT64 as well.

I did a video on these… I have run them in multiple trucks… make sure you shave the shock mount… as long as you do that they work great and last a long time…

I saw your video. Yours was a tundra right? I don’t think I’m having that issue.

@@AllTerrainFamily I ran them on a 4Runner as well… it was close enough that I cut a little notch… never had a Tacoma yet

Seems good. But maybe I’ll do a flex test. “Seems good” isn’t always reliable…

Is your Tacoma at max ride height ? And what load springs medium or heavy?
@AllTerrainFamily6 ай бұрын
Heavy. The front could go higher. But the back can’t unless i shed mass.

Did you do a front diff drop? Was that spacer for the rear driveline to adjust for proper pinion angles?
@AllTerrainFamily2 жыл бұрын
They did front diff drop. Yes the carrier bearing spacer comes with the lift kit.

What did this end up costing you with parts and labor? Just curious because I’m thinking of having a shop do mine but don’t know what’s reasonable.
@AllTerrainFamily2 жыл бұрын
I think the kit retails for $3500 and labor should be around $1000.

New subscriber here in So Ca. (unfortunately) love getting out to Nv for trips (prospecting) Have the same setup, interested in how you dial the settings in for on & off road. OME is a solid system but watchers need to understand its more in the Icon lineup as far as ride & lift not necessarily race oriented like King & Fox. Ive enjoyed mine for the last couple years but did have to do a CMC to run 33s & Volk wheels. Weather you need it or not for 33s will depend on the wheel your useing.

Man, I'm like you, but even more minimal. Kind of. I don't have a family but sometimes my GF and her dog come along. For the most part it's just me and my very large lab. I am a backpacker and fly fisher and being so my gear is very minimal. I am trying to downsize from my '15 DC Tundra with a topper and I am having one helluva time deciding what to do but I do want to go back to midsize and try to get further down trails. What would you pick if you had to start over: a tacoma double cab or a 4runner? My mind say tacoma and rip the back seats out for more space and storage for the dog and gear and then all gear goes in back. I sure love the 4runner and the stealth sleeping option, short wheelbase, etc, but it's not a truck but I could remedy that with bags and roof racks, etc. Thanks of the help!

If it were just the two of us I’d go with the 4runner. Smaller and more nimble. We had a 4Runner for years and did s lot even with all 4 of us. If you’re a backpacker style camper that’s the way to go.

What mounting rails do you have on the top of the camper shell? I'm having a hard time finding short ones to mount to my shell

Yakima slot rails.

@@AllTerrainFamily not good about the UCAs. Glad to hear the BP-51s are 👍🏼 though. Any idea how much lift the fronts gave you and how much exposed thread do you have on the top of the strut? Sure would rather not be removing and reinstalling a bunch of times to adjust lift.

The install sheet from arb specifies how much preload to use. Don’t assume it’s set right out of the box. Best to get the level right before alignment. So if you have to pull them to readjust, do it right away.

What was your preload set at? Curious what suspension is set at. I have same setup, still dialing it in

You most certainly have to bend the pinch weld to get that long UCA bolt out through the engine compartment. That was not fun. Those look like pretty beefy shocks. I did ICON Stage 3 cause I couldn't find OME or Bilstein 6112's at the time. Sub'd and following on Tacoma3g. Nice series.
