Hey Mark! I've been watching your channel for years now. I liked it when you and Paul used to just sit and talk for 30 minutes to an hour. I think this was an excellent video for older men moving to the Philippines. If your Filipina wife is young and wants a child or two, I think it is only fair to her that she grows older with children of her own. The key, like you said, is to plan for their future when they are gone. Once their future is well planned, then there should be no problem with the age of the man. People say the child will grow up without a father when the old man dies. True, however, how many Filipino and for that matter American children grow up without fathers? Lots!! The difference is that your child will be well taken care of when you are gone. Keep up the great work with the videos!

If your wife would like to have a child(her first and possibly only child), why would you object to that if you have the means? And since a guy can easily be around to the mid 80s with good food and a healthy life style, why would that be a problem at 68? You could live 20 years, and possibly more. It is very possible to get the child to the teen years and if there is a plan for after you pass, everything could be fine for the family and child. If there is no plan, that can be a huge problem. The best part is that Jen already knows how to live on next to nothing. That is what we in the west have forgotten, but Jen has lived it, in the past 5 years. Jen and Rogan will be fine.

Nice if you can get it, but in the long run it matters little. Read an easy book by Judith Rich Harris, _The Nurture Assumption_ . Robert Plomin's more recent book _Blueprint_ is a good complement to Harris' book. Bottom line: beyond providing a basic level of care and education, parental influence matters far, far less than most parents believe it does.
@SallySalvestro4 ай бұрын
Im your age and can relate to your stories. Something that astonishes me is that an American ,from the richest country in the world, you leave to live in the Phillipines because its affordable . As you eluded to the US medical system is private and half the country can’t afford it (Covid was testament to that). Your education system doesn’t rate in the top 10 worldwide, your life expectancy is a decade or more less compared to most western countries and yet half the country vote for a party that continues to erode your power and civil rights. As a citizen of the world it shocks me the people have been so brainwashed to tolerate it. Glad you’ve finally found peace and happiness brother.
@michaels42554 ай бұрын
I don't know where you get your information (and there are some very bad sources of information out there), but some of your claims are factually inaccurate. US medical system is only partly private/partly public (and I believe it would be vastly improved if we reduced the public role in the health care system because the public role serves primarily to reduce competition), race - adjusted US PISA test scores were still the highest in the world last I looked (you must adjust for race in order not to fall into the fallacy of composition), US life expectancy is only 2 years behind UK's fully socialist health care system and only 6 years behind long lived Japan - in spite of taking in a huge number of immigrants who are mostly from poor countries (30% of our population is foreign born). A large number of voters who support the erosion of our civil rights is a legacy of our high immigration policies, and I fully agree that our high level of immigration has been a strategic national mistake. Furthermore, the covid pandemic revealed absolutely nothing about the affordability of health care (which we already knew was overpriced, but that was not the problem where covid was concerned), but it revealed very much about the profound levels of corruption and collusion in our government and big corporations. America has plenty of problems, but foreign observers often misidentify them, or exaggerate them. I do not fault anyone who seeks greener pastures elsewhere, and sometimes I think about it myself, but when I look carefully, what I see is that every country has problems. Relocation brings improvements in some ways, but a worse situation in other ways, so unless one lives in a horribly bad place like North Korea or Gaza, you have to weigh the pluses against the minuses.
@MGTOWTheRationalMensClub4 ай бұрын
Not rich as it used to be 30-40 years ago. As per Forbes around 70 % Americans have less than 1000 $ in savings/ emergency funds. US has 35 trillion $ debt, every 3 months 1 trillion gets added to it. Around 20 % people live below poverty line.

While, it should not be recommend for everyone, some guys handle it quite well. Michael Collins ( the extraordinary Irish revolutionary ) who brought the British Empire at the height of its power to the bargaining table that created an Indeoendent Irish State was sired by his 75 year old when Michael Collins was born! His father was 60 when he was married Mary Anne OBrien a fathers daughter when she was 23 years old . Winston Churchill was astounded that Michael Collins who came from the 'sticks' was able through guerilla tactics ( studied by Ho Chi Minh and Che ) to pull off this feat. So there yiu have it !!! Good things await your son . 🙏👍💚
@michaels42554 ай бұрын
More important than his guerrilla tactics was his political skill. Collins knew how not to be so aggressive that he would alienate the general public, yet just aggressive enough that he would provoke the British forces to overreact, gaining sympathy for his cause.

1 issue : Having a father vs. no father. Priceless. Time will tell…. Being American… Great… Money in the bank… Great…. Having a father vs none….. I took care of my parents 1/2 life in the US til they passed in their 80’s. I missed my parents. Not easy but I don’t regret it. I took care of them because they took care of me. College /Navy…. Etc….1… Family support. But having a baby in your late 60’s…. That’s not easy. Just because others have done it ; doesn’t “justify” one’s action. Time will tell. When I decide to fully retire in PI, my goal is to trace my roots and help the poor and needy. Everybody has a different outlook in life. Good on you Mark. I live in the Philippines, and I am 71. I have two adult children in Australia.😀😀 I have one 6-year-old to a Filipina. Another one on the way next month (pssst it slipped through the cracks). But all ok.

Mark. Don't waste your money on baby food. My last three kids were raised on the same food we ate at the table. It doesn't need to be puree. Smash it with your spoon in your plate and feed him. Be prepared for much more smelly diapers.

Glad you’re happy but your list of old man daddies are all filthy rich and in a position to leave millions to their kids in order to secure their future. I think the trick for late in life dads is to provide for their future which is coming sooner rather than later.

Congrats to you & your family. I've known quite a few guys in my lifetime who've had kids later in life. I've suggested they keep up their physical stamina for when their kids start walking, running, & climbing. When they get older, they'll probably get involved in sports-with that said be prepared. When sons start "feeling themselves" during puberty & think they're "man enough" to take you on, be prepared.

I'll have to ask my mother at what age she started feeding me regular food and get back to you about that Mark. I could be wrong about this, but I think I remember her telling me I didn't like Baby Food. I think I was much less than a year old. In regard to your son's hair. My Grand Neice had very little hair for the longest time. It did finally start growing and at age 6 she looks like any other little girl. Great Video Mark!
