Great topic Mark. Not only do you not have anything in common with her family or friends, those same people have no interest in having anything in common with us. As long as the wife is providing for them, they will not extend themselves at all to try and converse. I stopped trying to, im tired of others coming into my house and not having the decency to at least give me a greeting. It happens every time. Where ever I out, i always acknowledge the people around me. I guess this issue is cultural I’m told? I hate it

The NO-FAULT divorce law in the U.S is the problem. If there is PROVEN domestic violence, alcohol and/or drug addiction, infidelity, unwillingness to work, etc. I can see a cause for a divorce. All it takes is for a woman to say that she in no longer happy and no matter how good a man is, she can file for divorce. The man will lose everything if he was the breadwinner (working two jobs and busting hiss ass off for his family), and she will walk off with hundreds of thousands of dollars and live the high life, meanwhile the man will have to start from scratch at 50 years old. Since retiring after my divorce, I’ve had to adjust not only to the financial challenges but also to the personal ones. Inflation makes managing my savings feel like a full-time job some days, and it’s tough not to think about how long my money will last, especially without dual incomes. On the flip side, living alone means fewer expenses, and I’ve been able to downsize, but it does get lonely sometimes, especially since my friends and family are still busy with their lives. Honestly, this single life after 60 feels very different than I thought it would. It’s not always easy, but there’s a kind of independence that comes with it

I’m 56, to be honest I had and still struggle with undervaluing myself. Which is fortunately, a massive turn off for women. I just plugged away at my life a short term relationship here and there I ended about 50% of those relationships because I could see that I was just being used for my resources. I now follow my passions whilst I’m still fit and able and I’ve got other interests waiting for me to have the time to commit to them. When I look a today’s women all I see is a lot of hard work for very little if any return.

The greatest blessing of my life has been my 29 year marriage. No matter what the future holds I’m thankful to my creator for this.

For 18 years of married life I was just as thankful and very happy. The 19th year was hell. The greatest blessing from my marriage is that two of my three children love me and care for me. I've been married since I was 21 and I have had my turn. I must say I enjoy being single much more now. God is good. ALL the time.

I am 51, twice divorced. Starting to save money now at 51. Renting a house at the beach and got back into motorcycling. Just got back from a weekend getaway to a tobacco pipe show with two great days of riding, yes it rained on the way home, but i was on two wheels. Life is good. We are better together then apart, but when she is not entertained and gets bored, they start to monkey branch to who is on her facebook page and guys at the office. I have gone down that dark tunnel and came out of it. Being single and free of drama with my future ahead with a smile on my face.😊

@@BlakesPipes your short story gives me hope. I lost my sense of self in my 25 year marriage that is just now coming to an end. My wife has always been a serial cheater. Once the bad outweighs the good it’s time to go. Our kids are in their 20s and out on their own. I am about to turn 50 and when I read stories like yours it reminds me that life can be so much better. Let’s hope 2025 is a great year for all of us. ✌🏻

Challenges in relationships are a normal part of life, but there’s always a path forward. My marriage encountered major difficulties, but with proper guidance, my wife and I managed to resolve our issues and deepen our connection. If you’re willing to put in the work and collaborate, solutions are always within reach. Keep hope alive; there are answers out there.!!!

Saying goodbye to someone you cherish is consistently difficult, yet in my case, I received support from a spiritual advisor who kept my marriage intact. Her name is Suzanne Ann Walters.
