Considering the limited technology back then, I think some of this 8-bit music on the original NES games are way better than some of the current gaming music. Listen to me sounding old.."Back in my day......."
@nikonilson9615 жыл бұрын
They truly are, even if today they tries so bad to make ''better'' music like mario Kart 8 using saxo on every damn tracks when listening to the old versions you end up realising they are better because it's what they were intended to be.

I got Kid Icarus too for my birthday. A schoolmate bought for me. I still remember him standing with the cart unopened in hands when I got off the schoolbus in the late 80's. Great gift from a great friend=) Thanks Carlos C.!

Steven Mabee I know I was probably 10 or so, the music is so catchy in these original 8 bit games I’ve been playing them when doing tedious tasks around the house some outright jam and they’ll get stuck in your head

Wow, I never heard the full title screen theme before. Was tough for us kids to have the patience to listen to any title screen theme in its entirety if there was no cutscene or demo to go with it and this was one of those cases. The music outlasted the visual loop. I thought I had. It is so much grander and more compelling than I ever realized!

I used to play NES on a stero TV. Sounded very close to this, just a little less crisp. I see these uploads more as taking NES music to as good as it can be without making covers or remakes. Although I really respect a lot of remakes on some of these tracks, they're homages, but never substitutes. Some of them are down right futile attempts at fixing something that wasn't broken. NES music is real music in its own right - and we celebrate it as such. :D

Very melodic and catchy. I've always loved this soundtrack, but didn't know it was so deeply engraved on my brain/heart till coming back all these years later, like a sort of homecoming. Hello old friends. We were together and didn't even know it. :)

I've often thought this bit in the Icarus song was just an odd lil' ditty, however, it's clearly from The Girl I Left Behind Me. Now I'm all the more curious as to why this was put in the track! Any speculation?
@billny336 жыл бұрын
Wow, I knew there was some song that part sounded like, but I never knew where I had heard it from or what it was called, so I never said anything about it. I guess it's cute that's referencing an actual old timey marching song, but what I can't figure out is what were they thinking regarding the section after it? That part just sounds awful like they ran out of musical notes or something.

Awesome! Both Title screen music and Underworld stage have Clash of the Titans influence kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYWTfqxuhddqmNE @ 1:45 I don't think it's coincidental that both titles also share the same ancient mythical hero theme. Alot of the NES composers were inspired by movies and classical music.
