Why would you want to unlist this? And why did you change the name to include this tacky line: *OUTDATED, LINK TO IMPROVED VERSION IN DESCRIPTION*? I feel like this old mix is actually MORE accurate than the new one you published, because back in the NES days, the music was often heard through low-fi speakers on cheap-ish televisions. It had a muffled quality to it. (And while that is a point you can disagree with, I'd still ask you to at least leave these old mixes as they are - no need to hide them.)
@chewydebates74033 жыл бұрын
What did you change in the new version?
@Nikos8BitStereo3 жыл бұрын
@@DisgruntledDoomer Personal dissatisfaction with these older uploads, and definitely would disagree on that one point as that's more so personal experience. But it's definitely a rash decision to Unlist based on not enjoying seeing how it used to be when it's going to be so much better now. Probably best to wait it out seeing the new and old be compared, guess cus I also said it on an Update Video announcing the new revamp that I had to follow through. But I see now its best to just put the info here at least that this is an older/inferior version and got a better one that can be accessed which I recommend. Thanks for the comment! :)

NG1 was cutting edge in several ways. Not only was the music risky, but the way they told the story was too. This was honestly the first wide screen letter boxed footage period be it television, movie or video game, plus they told the story in a theatrical way. This game was a trend setter which many games to this day still emulate.

The NES had one sound channel for raw, 1-bit DPCM sample playback, and many games used it for percusion: Super Mario Bros 3, Castlevania 1 and 3, Contra (most konami games did actually), Kirby´s Adventure, and more. Ninja Gaiden, then, wasn´t really being innovative on this matter. However, I wont deny it had had some of the most punchy and powerful snare drum samples there were on the NES.

I definitely would love people to check out the new versions more, and compare as they like, but was on the decision to Unlist all the old videos here but I don't think that would be far to all who enjoy the older version of 8BS and to my legacy. Granted no one showed opposition on the major update video about it which was apart of the main other decision that was going to happen along with the Revamp. But it is best I leave these as is and at least make aware on each old version that a new a preferred version from me is available. I am definitely more happy with the revamp versions but I shall keep these old ones to look back! :) And most certainly I would love to get a lot of the older stuff redone first then get to soundtracks that never got the first or second iteration of 8BS! :D

The Best of the Best!!! There is no doubt. The music of this game is the best soundtrack the NES has ever had! Each melody is an eargasm! My top 5 melodies are: 1-Evading the Enemy 2-Depth of Wickedness 3-Unbreakable Determination 4-Pushing Onward 5-Nowhere to Run but all of the rest are so excellent too. I remember myself many years ago, every time I did arrive home, watching so excited the duel on the intro while listening that awesome music, and then playing back again and again the sound test tracks whether played the game or not. And one day, about 10 years ago, after playing it all the day and after so many tries repeating the last stage, about 2 A.M. of the next day, I'm so proud I finally beated the game. It has been one of the best moments the NES has given me!!! (and I recorded it in a VCR). About this video, I think that Swift Ninja, Seeking Truth (especially this) and Aftermath sound very good (even better than in the NES) with that extra reverb. Thanks Tecmo for this wonderful soundtrack and videogame! Thanks Wiiguy for bringing us all of these awesome reverb videos!

With a limited set of sounds and instruments at their disposal, composers had to think about the melody, rather than complex polyrhythms (overlapping rhythms). Many of these sounds are a good melody, and then there are accompanying channels on top. That's why many 8 bit songs are memorable, and many sound really good, even when orchestrated, or played with an non-digital instrument, because the melody is strong, and then there are good accompanying beats on top. Sorry for the long post.

The one most memorable video game that made me want to be a bad ass Ninja when I first played it as a kid. After you beat this game the first time, you feel a very great sense of accomplishment and feel as though you really are a Hero Ninja. God Bless You NES Ninja Gaiden, without you I would never know the true meaning of “Unbreakable Determination” 😷🗡

faxanadu13 Same here bro. Its a good haunting Id say. I played this all day and night. I was so glad when I beat this for the first time. It felt like I cured cancer and saved the world literally. My Nintendo almost overheated. Lol. Awesome name and icon, by the way. Faxanadu is another gem.

Confession to the Guilty: My wake up alarm is this track. No one would understand this but a fanatic. It helps my cut down the mundane obstacles in my way. Super Shuriken!

Frankly, the game itself saves fairly frequently in that it returns you to a specific check point upon a game over. The only thing it doesn't allow you to do is save between Jacquio's forms. My first time through, I saved between forms in order to practice and increase my skill. The second time through, I beat all forms using one life. I suggest you do this as well, if you wish to emulate not only the game but its difficulty as well. Have fun! :)

Can you feel the originality of the soundtrack in this OLD game. It adds itself and amplifies the emotion generated by the storyline and characters. Something newer games lack.

If producers making shitty electronic music want to consider themselves musicians than this guy is their MOZART.

This game was so damn impossible, I swear I have never swore so many times at a game in my life. Glad I beat it within a week and a half, such a great game. So great, it gives you an adrenaline rush!

Talk about a blast from the past. Yep, Unbreakable Determination and the intro song are the two imprinted into my brain. This is one of the few NES games I never beat. Frustratingly hard. My best friend in 4th grade and I used to talk bout this game every day and both came to a consensus on how much we hated it because neither of us could beat it.
