Have a 2008 Toyota tundra in white. The white seems very dull, I washed and then comet, got some #7 I will leave on over night in garage. What should my next steps be. BTW I care about my paint. Want to take long road and do it right. Thanks guys 👍👍

I liberally spread M7 on the paint and then cover it with Saran Wrap and leave it sit for days, once even a spot for weeks. Then I move the Saran Wrap to the next spot. Of course, it’s in the garage. Then I use three Griot’s wipes ( the white one you had with red border) to wipe it off, first one has lots of M7 coming off, by the third one it’s coming very clean. 1961 Olds lacquer.

I want to ask something, my friend; Is ceramic application applied to one-stage paint? Can an iron remover spray be used on such a paint? I could not find the answer to these questions! Please can you answer? Thanks,

Thank you for the great video guys! 1 question. I've been told that if you do not cut back the oxidization enough before ceramic coating then the paint will start to still oxidize underneath the coating. My question is, how do i know when i have cut back enough paint to stop it from coming back under the ceramic coating?

Will #7 restore an old Mercedes single stage paint with spider web cracks? They only show up when it gets dirty. Thanks!

I have a 1963 lincoln with original paint that I just bought. There are some spots that are thin and I plan on using the #7 technique, after I do that what pad and product do you recommend to polish with? Should I use a cutting pad and polish at all since the paint could be thin? Thanks for all info.

I plan to restore the finishes on my two 1967 Olds 98. One is yellow repainted in enamel 1973 and the other brown or gold all original. I plan to keep the rust patina on the brown one. How do you protect the patina?

Can you use something like baking soda? I’ve even tried to wet sand mine off and it seem to just get even more white. Please help me.

Some people do a Comet wash on oxidized single stage paint to scrub off as much oxidation possible before polishing it.

How long should i l;et acrylic enamel single stage paint cure before wet sanding?
@autogeek Жыл бұрын
Acrylic enamel single stage paint typically takes between 7 to 14 days to fully cure. However, it's recommended to wait at least 21 days before wet sanding for best results. It's important to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for curing time, as some brands may vary in their recommended curing times.

Anyone know what my factory 1991 Mustang GT paint has? It is solid color, EP Bright Red, single stage. Did they use single stage enamel or single stage urethane paint?
@gofy8481 Жыл бұрын
what process and products would you use to remove oxidation from 10 year old Snap On tool box? I am pretty sure it is single stage. Box is in great condition, no scratches just a bit oxidized. I am afraid of going through the paint!

Could try a cleaner wax first that is non abrasive. If that doesn't work, you could try a fine cut polish and get more aggressive if needed.

Can i use comet on a ssp plane ????
@autogeek3 жыл бұрын
Yes if the paint has a lot of chalky oxidation. Be aware that the paint on most small aircraft is thin and rubbing anything, Comet, a cleaner/wax or a compound over the paint by hand or machine tends to remove the paint off the top of any rivets or overlapping edges of aluminum panels. This is simply the downside of working on small aircraft. -Mike Phillips
