My favorite photo made in Leith. Love whatever is connected with Leith.

Great, but some subtitles would be helpful, especially for folk who aren't acquainted with old Leith. Loved the picture of the Newhaven fish wives. I worked in Leith docks, the last 25years before retirement. At the grain elevator and finally controller at the harbourmasters office at the lock gates. Truly enjoyed my time there. Many thanks for sharing.❤❤❤❤

Luckily my forefathers left Scotland for Australia in 1845 , Australia is misery for the working class , Scotland would have been pure living hell , and frigging miserably cold to depress you even more .

My family was from there to, from Leith and they left to America in 1906, doing that was taking a huge chance and a leap of faith, and back then that meant you'd never see or speak to the rest of your family again, and unlike now back then European families were more numerous and close. that time the poverty was extreme in there, people struggled and their bravery to fight through is inspiring, and we should be thankful we're here now thanks to them 🙏🏻
