I tried to build me some gin poles but they wont go up. I eventually broke and twisted stuff. I will upload a video to get ideas on what went wrong.

That is awesome! I plan to make one... is that 2 1/2x 1/4 wall sq tube to 2x2 tube? I will be using it to hang gates

I started to build a gin pole setup for my Silverado 3500hd today. I will be uploading video soon. What winch do you recommend for this? I just welded 3 receivers on my flatbed I am building and 2 are for attaching the gin pole setup.

Depends on how much you figure the setup can handle, my winch is way overkill probably only need a 1500lb winch for mine lol

@@kindeed2009 Thanks. I saw the 12,000 Harborfrieght winch on sale for 300. I may use that for the meantime and then install on front bumper. I may get a smaller one later for the gin pole than. Thanks
