Bikes like this looked so futuristic and incredible in the 80's.. could stare at them for hours..

You know, there were lots of rad bikes in the 80s but somehow Diamond Back is the one that stands closest to me. It was a DB that made me crazy about BMXes for the first time in the early 80s, it was a DB that I could call my first serious bike and DB has been the brand that I had the most bikes from ever since, for some reason I have a sweet spot for them. It is hard to put my finger on it but they all feel kind of magical to me still✨ Chrome and blue has always been the raddest!💙

Everything you did is perfect on this build. Keep the pads and plate in my opinion. Blue and chrome is awesome! I could stare at this for a while 🤩

Silver and black with a white UNI seat/seatpost and Powerlite bars, just like mine! Rode it every day to school, elementary to high school, until it got stolen spring ‘95 of my senior year. RIP, my beauty.

The first ever real BMX I rode was a diamond back silver streak my friend let me have a go on woolston swimming baths car park , couldn't believe how light and nimble this bike was . It was a whole year before I got my bike that I still have to this day thanks Lee for the loan of your bike . Magical times growing up in the 70s/80s priceless !

I like the raced up number plate and pads for sure! I think a white brake cable, seat and number plate would really bring out the white font in the decals.

Nice build! I build an almost identical blue and chrome ‘84 Diamond Back, but with blue Tuffs. …….oh, and yes to your number plate, and no to the pads. 👌🏼

Sharp looking bike ! I had a viper as a kid and loved the look but I didn't like the chain tabs either ! Always liked pads and numberplate but she looked great bare too

I Love the way this turned out the colors and the wheels are killer I love both with or without pads but if I'm showing it then pads and plate. I still have my 82 DB Silver Streak from the 80s with the baseball Logo so Japanese made I'm about to start a rebuild on mine but I'm going all red theme with chrome frame just Gathering parts, Good to know that our neighbors across the ditch have the stickers and cranks I'm looking for as I'm in New Zealand your builds are inspiration to me keep up the Great work.😎

I'm in the process of rebuilding mine. The blue really pops. Has me rethinking the black accessories since currently I only have the black chain ring.

Nice build very much like the one I ran in 83/84 except I ran an 890 on the rear with no front brake, CW handlebars with a DK stem and Sugino cromo 1 piece cranks.
