I lived in Kailua Town in the late 50s and attended Kailua High. It's so good to see a local breakfast place there. Mahalo nui!

Times Coffee Shop is a hidden gem of Kailua. The restaurant has been around for at least 40 years, in different locations. You're a true Kailua local if you remember that they used to be called Times Bakery and were located on Kuulei Rd. and also in the little building back behind Zippy's! Times is absolutely known for their fried rice, that's pretty much all I ever get when we go there (full order fried rice w/ the egg scrambled in and potato salad). I've been eating their fried rice since I was a young girl and it has always been my favorite dish. I've lived on the mainland now for 30 years and the first place we go for breakfast when we come home to visit is Times for fried rice! My mouth is watering right now and I can't wait to come back home in July, lol. I'm glad you got to try the food there and I really enjoy your channel. Always makes me miss home and crave local food!

Fun. Old school is defo our vibe. Whenever we are in Hawaii we always seem to go back to Asahi Grill. My hubby loves the oxtail soup and I love the eggplant tempura curry. I recently starting watching your videos and now we have so many more options to choose from. Mahalo so much. Times coffee shop is totally up our alley and the setting is perfect in Kailua right by the Hamakua Marsh. I would love to see more of the natural beauty of Hawaii like that marsh, or reefs or gardens or beaches etc. Great idea Amanda. Have a happy healthy Easter.. Hope y

Maggi soy sauce or Aloha shoyu on over easy eggs on either toast or rice is where it's at. Also appreciative of the nature spots: I am awaiting Moanalua Gardens to hopefully reopen and I miss the Nature Center from back in the elementary school days. Keep up the great content as always guys!
