I consider myself to be a decent cook, but I have always struggled with making homemade biscuits. They usually always come out too dry and hard. I made biscuits using Bizquick a few times, but didn’t care for them. I then started buying the Pilsbury southern style frozen biscuits and gave up on making my own. Taking the advice from someone at church I went to the grocery store got the Formula L and some whole buttermilk and made them. I couldn’t believe how simple it was to make and how absolutely great they tasted. Folks, if you struggle with making homemade biscuits like me do yourself a favor and use the Formula L recipe. I promise you won’t regret it.

Making homemade biscuits whether homemade Buttermilk biscuits are fairly easy. I’m from the south( Tennessee) and our mother made us a big breakfast every single Saturday, with all the breakfast foods, sausage, bacon, fried potatoes, sausage gravy, and oh my gosh, love, love, love homemade sausage gravy and homemade biscuits of any type ( my mother had her own way of making hers) so..,don’t give up on you, try different types etc. you can do this ok. It’s interesting. I’m challenging you. I try different recipes for homemade biscuits from different sites. You can do this. Don’t give up.

iuse this biscuit mix and I LOVE IT. use whipping cream instead of buttermilk. the test is HEAVEN. I make these all the time. my family loves them.

Found this mix (March 11, 2022) at the Walmart off 59 & West Airport, I would try and purchase online I'd put it in the cart to purchase and became unavailable immediately. So, I took my chances went to Walmart found the biscuit mix on the isle where you find others, took me a minute to find it, when I did, they had 3 I bought two of them. Now this is my go-to biscuit. I no longer have to make them from scratch even though they are easy to make from scratch. Thanks Chef Jeff for your videos.

I have always Meade my biscuits from scratch, Old School if you will, this I actually think I will try. Old School sausage gravy, I have several pints of peeper jelly I made from the garden and some Amish Honey I buy from a local market where I live, there’s only one (1) red light where I live, so you know I live in the sticks. I live in California. We don't get this biscuit mix in our state. We did have Borden milk with Elsie the cow on it but that was when I was younger now we don't have that anymore either. Maybe I should move!. I enjoy watching you cook. I think your great.

I have been using this for a while. Love it. I tweek it a little by grading more butter into dry mix with a grader, then add buttermilk after that. Also melt butter and brush on top. The family will love it. Love your channel. Be Blessed. ❤

It just makes it a more buttery biscuit. It has to be in solid form to grate. Melt butter and brush on top of biscuit after they're done.

I was excited to find my mix on the top shelf at Walmart for $3.98. I cut recipe in half to make 6 for breakfast with bacon and eggs. Reminded me of Granny's biscuits 😋

I will most definitely be trying these. I've only made homemade biscuits once in my lifetime. They turned great, my son loved them (he's grown now). It was too much work for me, though. I laugh whenever I remember him looking up at me that morning and saying, "I bet can't do that again".

I found that same biscuit mix about 4 years ago, and that is all I use now. Taste just like the biscuits that my Grandmother made when I was growing up. So light, so buttery, so delicious😋

I've been using this for well over 30 years. Anybody can make a good biscuit with this mix. My dad used to buy it in a 20 pound bag at a wholesale house where the restaurants got their supplies before we could find it in stores. Now it is pretty much everywhere. If you really want to rock these biscuits put some grated cheddar cheese in the batter.

I do love my King Arthur flour and my White Lily flour for my biscuits but those biscuits were gorgeous! So I will look for Southern Biscuit Mix and fry it .

Yessssss THANK YOU. My grandma made the best biscuits in the world but I tell you, these were great. She always said bake on 450 or 475, but I like my biscuits like yours, lightly brown and soft. This Formula L is a hit. Tell them to send yo susta in FL a couple of bags a year, I’d preciate it 😂😂😂. But yeah let yo people know Amazon is highway robbery. # 2021Helpsomebody old school soul food. Hi Chef, I first tried Formula L last fall..They don't sell it where I live in Illinois, but my son lives in West Virginia and he was able to get me some. The product is excellent. Very few ingredients and taste very good. Thanks for sharing this item.
