This version of the game suffers the exact same problem as Glover: poor porting. The N64 version of this game is actually pretty good, especially with the expansion pak that increases the draw distance. That, and it was originally designed for the N64. Just like Glover. So.

So Caddy I was playing the PC version on normal difficulty and about halfway through the very first level. Bloody cows came out of no where and started to attack me. Also when you start the 2nd level you don't have to pick up your friends. So I can say PS1 is the worst version and the PC version is the best version and the N64 version is in the middle

It even has a difficulty setting too. So on Hard you have to hit the Turkeys 3 times with snowballs to die. so Imagine a group of turkeys after you. Those Snowball won't be useful.

This game is actually really good. There are a bunch of levels, a bunch of unique weapons, and a bunch of enemies. The game gets really challenging later on. The final boss is insanely difficult. Not to mention there's a level where you get abducted by aliens. The voice acting for all the dozens of characters in multiplayer mode is hilarious.

The N64 cartridge had faster loading times than disk games (which is why you never see a loading screen in most N64 games). So the view distance and lag is probably non-existent in the N64 version (I don't have the game itself to test this though).

I have the N64 version and *holy hell what the hell did they do to Cartman?!* Also in the Nintendo version there's a little rabbit in the bottom left corner in the main menu. So there's your animation. Edit: *HOLY HELL! WHAT DID THEY DO TO THE ENTIRE FUCKING GAME?!?!?!* There wasn't NEARLY that much lag in the original N64 game (Read: NONE AT FUCKING ALL!); enemies did NOT pop up right in front of your face; the characters didn't sound like they were talking behind a *fucking wall;* the enemies had more varied sound clips; the draw distance, while still pretty bad, was bearable; there were no load times before levels; and they somehow managed to make a game that was already pretty ugly look even WORSE! This game is actually pretty fun, especially in deathmatch multiplayer, and I hope this review of the horribly butchered PSOne port doesn't put anybody off the N64 version. My only explanation to this disaster is that the PSOne is so shitty that it can't even handle a SHITTY looking N64 game!

Jeffrey Webb Actually I love console gaming because I'm horrible at the keyboard. I didn't mean all PC games are better than consoles, but I am saying that in this case the PC version of South Park is a lot better than the console version. The game doesn't lag and you can see much farther than in the PS version. I didn't mean to offend any console gamer because I'm one myself. And I'm sorry if I did. The "naturally" part was suppose to be a joke.

***** Frankly, I've always held the belief that if there are PC and console ports for any game that don't actually change the game (like the difference with Sonic Unleashed on Wii/PS2 or PS3/360) they should be able to play together. I have Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on Wii U, but nobody to play it with, even though most of my friends on Steam have it.

I used to be a hardcore Nintendo fan only, but thanks to you I've gotten rid of my weird hatred toward PlayStation and am thankful for the unique games that those systems have to offer. I'm pretty sure somebody will have already pointed this out, but the whole "aiming with the shoulder buttons" thing is because the developers of the original N64 version of South Park, Iguana Entertainment, also developed Turok, which also used that same mechanic.

I honestly think the cutscenes are just the n64's cutscenes recorded and slapped into the ps1 version because the ingame models looked alot better than the ones in the ps1 version. lol
