"Acclaim couldn't implement the character, however, due to the legal issues of his leg being American actor Patrick Duffy". That's gotta be the best sentence I've heard in any DYKG video.

Exactly, I mean, Lil Pump is potentially the most intelligent rapper right now. The amount of thought that goes into these songs is insane! And I'm not just referring to the amazing mixing this album contains. The fact that each and every verse he raps is categorised into verses, and that every point Lil Pump makes is instantly followed by an example of why it's 100% true. Mainstream rappers aren't smart enough to be able to put together valid arguments that are logical and non-contradictory. Those that are uneducated will just release a 3 minute disstrack with a bunch of rented cars & swearing. A highly educated individual like Lil Pump can make a meaningful album with 10x the length, because he has 10x more logic and intelligence.

I feel like the only person on the planet who legitimately likes South Park Rally. I loved it as a teenager. I think it's got a really cool concept that shakes up the traditional kart racer due to the way each race has a different goal and even the normal lap races don't go in typical circles, utilizing an unusual checkpoint system with big, open maps. It was really fun. I wish you'd have talked about Chef's Luv Shack though, that game was great, too. The FPS game was certainly the weakest of the three.

The reason Matt and Trey say that they didn't have much input on the console games is because, to them, they didn't. Their roles on those games were more of consultants, not producers. While they are receptive to ideas and input, everything they're accustomed to doing will always be more or less dominated by them. They're showrunners, writers, directors, the talent, everything. The early games, they were just giving input, nothing like how they were working on Stick of Truth or Team America or The Book of Mormon.

It's a shame "Rally" didn't work out. Kart racers may be kind of a cliche way to make a quick buck with an IP, but there's a reason for that: they're fun. Can you imagine what it would be like if Ubisoft were to take another crack at it, this time with over twenty years of material to work with and Matt and Trey's blessing? There's so much potential. Just think of the vehicles... Kenny's Go Go Action Bronco. Mr. Garrison's IT. Timmy's wheelchair. Cartman's stock car, or maybe his hippie drill. The Member Berries' Model T. Gerald and Randy's hybrids (which they'd drive with smug looks on their faces, of course).

imagine if they made it with the SOT/FBW artstyle instead of 3D models, that would be so cool
@TBustah
@TBustah 2 жыл бұрын
@@NamekFreakazoid I guess that’d be doable. The first Mario Kart didn’t have rendered character graphics, either. The tracks were Mode 7, but the drivers and their carts were 2D sprites. It’s certainly possible to use 2D character models like the show or SoT/FBW, the question is how well would they blend with rendered backdrops? SMK got away with it because the technology of the time limited them to backgrounds that were even simpler than that of a typical episode of the show and people were used to much simpler graphics in general, but the seams would be more visible today and it might come off as cheap or lazy.

Watching this again, I still await the day someone turns "Mary-Kate and Ashley: Get a Clue" into _South_ _Park_ _2…_ Also, the stuff about Acclaim's main South Park game was also interesting to hear… Kinda intrigued how it went this long without any fan improvements/additions.

Huh, I thought I knew as much information on the Early South Park games but the stuff after Rally I did not know. Real shame that Open world game was cancelled. It looked pretty great. P.S. Thanks for for crediting me in the South Park Rally footage DYNG.

I'm surprised you didnt even mention Chef's Luv Shack for the 64. It was a trivia game with minigames.

I love games full of puzzles, but the phrase, "it was supposed to have a focus on puzzle solving" has become so common in describing cancelled or vastly re-imagined games that it has made me incredibly skeptical of a game where "the story is told through a bunch of unrelated and difficult intellectual challenges which don't involve action, creativity, socializing, or even a traditional understanding of fun." Thank you, DYKG. I think I have finally learned my lesson and now reached Level 2 of game design theory. Also, even though at the time I felt like South Park 64 was a little barren, I still loved the hell out of it for what it was. It would be nice to see more detailed version of the same idea, even if it comes across feeling like a jokey COD reskin instead of a jokey Quake reskin.

I loved south park rally it was my first experience with south park and honestly other than that BS 🥚 hunt race the game is pretty good even as a kid I thought the roster was insane on ps1 Also really wanted that ps2 south park game to come out.

8:30 THQ... Not Ubisoft... Regardless of how you worded it, you forgot to talk about how THQ had to sell their license due to bankruptcy to Ubisoft.

Stick of Truth was their idea and they pitched it to THQ, so I'm guessing they were just waiting for the technology to catch up so they could make the kind of game they really wanted.

@@NamekFreakazoid You're right, there were at least two more prior to Stick of Truth. There was another one that was a platformer, I think it was called Scott Tenorman's Revenge?

So glad there’s finally some good South Park games. Tower Defense Play and Scott Tenormens Revenge while nothing special and lacking in gameplay and comedy, are decent games. But oh boy! The Stick Of Truth And Fractured But Whole are so good!

I personally couldn't play the South Park game with the turkeys in it because I get way too motion sick. But some of my favorite PC games of the past were South Park Rally and Chef's Luv Shack which I'm surprised didn't even get mentioned. It was a quiz show type game. I could never beat Rally though because of my motion sickness, and the furthest I ever got was Big Gay Al's stage. Ah, awesome memories.
