This was recorded in 1995, when Chris Goffey accompanied some classic Bugattis around Italy. He also takes time to visit the Bugatti factory to road test the EB110 Supersport and to talk to some owners at the Prescott hillclimb.

5-liter 4-cylinder engine. That's freaking hilarious! So used to reading about 3.5-liter V-12s in modern supercars--the exact opposite--that that really took me by surprise.

Thanks for uploading this legionary TV episode. I have it on VHS somewhere. Chris Goffey does a great job here. The stripped out Bugatti is amazing.

Cool vid! Nice to see the Mobbed up director of the 90's iteration of the company speak at the end. Still - and 8,000 RPM redline seems a bit low these days. Also there, but only seen in the background is the Type 59 Roi des Belges model built for King Leopold....when I get to heaven, the Lord had better roll up in that or he might lose some of my respect!
@psk1w15 жыл бұрын
The T59 was Bugatti's last GP race car. Roi des Belges is bodywork for luxury cars - see this: www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/4749364/A-good-idea-at-the-time-Roi-des-Belges-body-style.html

It's hard to imagine a Bugatti Atlaintique owner driving one outside ever. This was a lot of years ago. Now they are worth Stupid money. It was the most expensive car for a bit if I recall correctly. Luv and Peace.

Is there any way to use this footage please?. Ivan Dutton is interviewed on here. Now aged 83 he has a successful KZbin Channel, SHED Racing, in which he entertains his 18.5k viewers with restoration, racing, anecdotes etc. Would be fabulous if we could use some of the footage of him on his channel - obviously with the appropriate credits etc.

The black car at 13:07 and again at 13:27 is one of Erik Koux' replica Bugatti Atlantics. It appears again a few moments later and is featured for a longer time. The driver fails to identify it fully and accurately. www.bugattirevue.com/revue39/erik.htm

Artioli's attempt to build a new car using the Bugatti name, which he and his consortium owned only briefly, was not a success. Later, when the VW Group acquired the name, a new and more lasting resurrection was to take place, but, spectacular as it is, the VW Group's Bugatti Veyron still isn't really a Bugatti in the purest sense.

The Veyron is an insult to the name of the man that coined the term "Fastest trucks in the world" to describe his fiercest competition. These days that title is held by his own marque. That's not saying the Veyron isn't awesome, it is, just that there is very little "Bugatti thinking" behind it.
@SlideShowz-f9q11 жыл бұрын
I dont think Mr.Bugatti would be happy with the EB110, or even the Veyron. His philosophy is to make light weight car, unlike the EB110 and the Veyron which are pretty heavy compared to its competitors.

Ettore Bugatti was an Italian who set up his car company in Molsheim in 1909, which was then in Germany. After WW1 it became French territory. The factory was financed by his friend Pierre de Vizcaya, a Spanish Basque.

If something fascinate enthusiast all over the world, becaming their lifes most important hobby, and they are willing to spend loads of their hard earned money on it, then "that something" is really special and beautiful. But what king of taste can we expect from Malaysian broke idiot who's "dream car" is Malaysian kit-car, so badly made that it really doesn't have a pinch of MG TD charm. Dirtpoor idiot trashing anything expensive.
