We have updated this video! You can find it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX7MgYx-g7OaaJo However, this old video will still remain up if you prefer it. We like to pin video clarifications! At 1:56, you can see how light is written on top of the arrow in the photosynthesis formula. This is the chemical formula and while light is a very important input, it is not going to be considered a substance reactant like the balanced carbon dioxide molecules and water molecule reactants are in the formula. (This is why it's *not* listed as a reactant on our handout). But, earlier on in the video (1:46), we have an image of carbon dioxide+water+light energy ->oxygen + sugar. What is confusing is we shouldn't have let our blue bracket line for reactants encompass the light energy in that cartoon, because that can be confusing when you write it chemically as light is not written as a reactant. Our intention was to show a casual representation then turned into a chemical formula, but we should have left off the bracket lines. If we update this older video, we'll build in a portion to expand on that. We appreciate the helpful feedback we get!

Any chance your could do a video about photosynthesis and cellular respiration together? I could focuses on how energy is converted from light to chemical potential energy in the sugar to ATP or usable energy. I think that would be a very helpful focus and would highlight that products and reactants are matter that is recycled while energy is transferred.
