I believe the lady you speak of is from Serbia. There are a lot of old style cooking channels from the mountains of Iran north. I mean every country. The one thing you could add to the vacuum sealed jars is a little seasoning packet. Especially as gifts to those that are not expeiced cooks. Then write a recipe on the jar top, add a label or on a piece of paper tied to the jar. To me the label is best. The funny things old timers used jars for. After grandma passed I brought grandpa to my little hobby farm which was like heaven to him. He would want to stop for lunch. He would pull out two pint jars of stew that he had cooked in a slow cooker the day before. He said when he was a kid cutting mine props in the 1920s they carried oatmeal in a jar for their lunch as that was all they had. I will pass on the oatmeal but then again if that is all you have?
