I wanted to add a post here at Part 1, even though I'm up to #4 at this point. I cannot express how fantastic it is to have your series available to us players for this EXTRAORDINARY game. Your playthroughs of this insta-classic are a joy to watch, and are chock-full of juicy bits to help us fully navigate the complexity of OW. Players who are just starting this series to learn and master the game are in for a serious treat. Brew the coffee, pour the Tea, sit back with a notepad and enjoy the ride -- this series on OW is the one to watch. Thank You, thank you, thank you UV -- You rock it hard on this one!

I bought this game ages ago on pre-release and didn't really play it. Just came back to it now. This series looks like exactly what I need to get in to it, very excited! Thank you!

A great guide for a great game! It is a bit different from Civ games, but I think it is a lot better.

There’s an undo function (bottom-left). Very useful if you click something by mistake. ✨

I don't get into the youtube comments much...but I drank, and wish more people played old world like this. I love the game even though I'm bad (and usually drunk)

Technology tree looks a bit funny. How come animal husbandry devolops from stonecutting?

Great guide. Nice pace to it and you do a good job of explaining things as you go through your steps. So those looking at this, this video looks at the very beginning of a game from founding your capital to unit movement to the very important Orders mechanic.

Greetings from Poland. I'm new here. This game was the one and only reason I got Epic account. Also the one and only game I've bought twice. Good thing I was able to migrate data (achievements, saves, hall of fame) between Epic and Steam. I strongly recommend this title. Cheers.

Thanks for dropping by. I’m enjoying the game so far. A good alternative to Civ.

Good tips for beginners. Well explained. This would have been handy if I hadn't spent 9 hours in the tutorial myself.

Thanks, I was a bit put off by this game, because of the difference to Civilization (my favourite game), but you've made things a lot clearer😀 👍.

Would love to know which Leader is for which playstyle the best. Not quite sure if it's in Old World like in Civ 6 that you can win differently and so different leaders are better for the different win conditions

Is this series still pretty accurate 2 years later?

Games a lot of fun to roleplay as well :)) feels easier to do that vs like civ 5 where my leaders just feel like numbers

I was intrigued with the addition of a character focus (as I like the Crusader Kings games), but I was a bit worried that the addition of such mechanics in a Civ-like game would end up being a lot of unnecessary micromanagement.

Currently watching because I can’t figure out how to produce the first warrior in the tutorial.

Has this been made with sid meiers help? I hope so there are to many similarities with the civ games.
@UnstableVoltage2 жыл бұрын
No. No involvement from Sid Meiers (and to be honest, he's not all that involved with the more recent Civilization games anyway. Sure, he's the studio head (Firaxis) and the games still carry his name - but he has designers who do the work for him these days. This game was made by Soren Johnson (and his studio Mowhawk Games). Soren used to work for Firaxis and he was the lead designer on Civilization 4. And yes, there are many similarities with other Civ games, but then, the same can be said about most turn-based 4X games.
@Sarge802 жыл бұрын
@@UnstableVoltage Agreed. i was just worried about a conflict of interest, but if this designer was formerly with firaxis then im sure its all settled, wouldnt want to lose a good game over jurisdictional issues.

Well, you can't copyright game mechanics. Most games take inspiration from others.
