A side note for the section about schemers - Your first heir when playing Babylon is a schemer. She starts at 9yo so you can start tutoring her on turn 2, and with Nebuchadnezzar being a scholar, you can get her wisdom quite high by the time she is an adult.

Thanks for the guide. I’ve been enjoying just messing around in the game and kind of role playing but it’s good to learn more of the mechanics. Looking forward to more videos

Love this, really good video. Statesmen are actually slightly better than you suggest. Family Opinion has 6 levels - Furious, Angry, Upset, Cautious, Pleased and Friendly, so a max of +6 civics and they start at +4. Builders I think don't get the credit they deserve here. Stacking workers on improvements is very strong for getting improvements up and running quickly, improving the amount of turns you benefit from them. You can 2 turn a wonder with 6 or 7 workers. They are best when you start with one as you can really take advantage of the 50% worker build time reduction to get your economy going quickly. Finally urban tile building may be a little niche but it can be huge for expanding your territory quickly especially along the coast where you only need one adjacent urban tile to pop them down.

@@alcaras which is your favourite civ so far? Mine has to be Assyria.

@@caniblmolstr4503 I am partial to Persia, both for their order economy and their UU. If playing with starting techs, they also start with all tech prereqs for Spoked Wheel, which can result in some glorious Saddleborn Chariot rushes :D

@@alcaras Haven't tried Persia so far. Will try after I complete my Assyria game. Interestingly, I as Ahurbanipal had changed the law to make Shamash-Shum my heir. Then my son killed me, Shamash and his wife. Though no complaints as my son Esarhaddon has 12 courage and is a zealot

Great video! Clarifies many things. Another video batch idea that could be of interest to many people is: a focus on each civilization with tips on early, mid, late campaign game: - techs to prioritize (given unique units and starting tachs) - battle tactics given unique units - what balance of things to build (improvements, specialists, projects) and in what family city Love your series! improvements to prioritize and what projects, when

Thanks for the suggestions! Note that this video is almost a year old and some things have changed quite a bit, particularly w/r/t family balance. Re: UUs, I made an in-depth video about them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3OllZxpqt-DeJo

Very good guide! Many Thanks! Old World is much better than Civ! The Ai is even at "Prince" demanding. In Multiplayer the game is even more fun :-)!
