I don't have quite much to say about Amiga games, but I wanted to thank you for being one of those weird youtubers who reads and answers comments, its very nice and heartwarming!

Thanks for watching! And... I do not only make Amiga videos. There's C64, Early Windows, DOS... There may be more in the future, I'm just currently working on these four alternating (more or less). And I make those videos for others to watch. If I made them for myself, I'd just run them in my brain with my eyes closed and wouldn't require any rendering. Oh wait! That's dreaming! xD Anyway, I believe that if someone spends some of their time watching these, and has something constructive to say about them, there's no way in hell I'm gonna leave them hanging. And also, I enjoy it. Talking to people who have similar interests. Not necessarily always the same point of view, which is also interesting. And some of my viewers, oh my days, they know a lot, and I mean it in the most genuine way. I may be making videos, some of them have like ocean's worth of gaming knowledge compared to my puddle-worth of it. ;) What I'm trying to say, is that's not only something every YT should at least try doing, but it's also fun. :)

I vaguely remember seeing Pinkie in magazines, but I'd never seen it in motion before; it looks very nicely animated. Photon Storm And Metal Law look pretty good too. Projectyle looks rather inventive with its squishy puck and changing from arena to arena, I can imagine it being very addictive and fun in multiplayer.

Pinkie is surprisingly fun and inventive. I think that if you can overlook cartoony graphics, you'll like it. I'd risk saying that Projectyle is as good as Speedball 2 (gameplay-wise), especially that you can play it with 2 friends and not just 1.

Miasto Śmierci is new to me & looks very interesting? Metal Law, which looks very arcadey, & Nathan Never with it’s excessive frames of animation. Metal Combat is kind of “so bad it’s good.” Pinkie’s an interesting one with some unique mechanics. In spite the simplicity & the assault on the eyeballs Photon Storm is actually good fun. Not a fan of sports either but Projectile actually tries to be it’s own thing in stead of just a familiar sport. It’s a shame Shadow of the Devil never left Slovakia, I get that it’s not a great game but it at least seems interesting? Lots of stuff I haven’t played in this one, thanks. It’s amazing that all these years on there’s still stuff to find for the old Amiga.

Miasto Smierci is not terrible if you enjoy your Operation Wolf like games. It's not as good, but it's nod so bad you won't finish it. So, it's "ok". Nathan Never is just... Never... Never play it. I mean, there's nothing technically wrong with it. But it's not fun at all. And feels flat. You can never tell who's winning the firefight. Simply put, yeah, Photon Storm is just good. And I think it was often the case with those simple looking games, that were made by just one or two people. They had a good idea but no resources for flashy graphics or sounds. So they made them best they could, and they ended up looking bland and playing great. Yep, Amiga is a bottomless well. But so is DOS to be honest and there's probably even more games for it that were not wide spread.

Great video! Carry on making Amiga content if you can! Nathan Never is definitely a love hate game. I love the graphics... the gameplay...AHHH! NO, darn I love it! I like the the game. But I also agree with what you say. ☺

Thanks and, well, yeah, Nathan is a polarising subject... And well, it's a healthy mix of different platforms here, so while there's obviously going to be more Amiga, other systems will be featured too. :)

iT AMAZES ME THAT IN 1995-1996 some people (sorry caps lock) still made Amiga games . We were playing Command & Conquer Red Alert, Quake and Duke Nukem 3d by then... Not to mention Diablo 1

Well, it was still a decent if a bit outdated system. But as you probably noticed, many of the games released at the time were, well, not of the "amazing" kind. ;)

Commodore went belly up in Spring '94 but I'm pretty sure It had still some market a couple years down the road ....we still have games made for stuff like c64 and intellevision in 2023 😱

@@federicocatelli8785 that's different.. anything made past the year 2000 for 80s systems is usually hobby projects from and for nostalgia retro gamers. Not made as a commercial product to make serious money. Like the 8-bit guy making C64 and Vic 20 games. He is already happy if he breaks even eventually and any profit is a bonus

@@federicocatelli8785Well obviously the machines lived much longer. I mean, I had mine throughout all of 1995 I think. But since the manufacturer was down, the devs started leaving the sinking ship as fast as they could, and it really was not long until only very few left. I mean, I'd love to see Amiga carry on, but it just was not in the cards.

There was a still a market for it, and in places like the UK, PCs were still staggeringly expensive so not a lot of people had them in the home. This was starting to change around then, but there was still a big player base. Plus a lot of the late games were basically either shareware or independent studios who probably were coding their games for a year or so, and so started when the Amiga user-base was a bit healthier.

I did most in the past but if you're asking about recording then no, they're not mine. That's why every segment has a banner in the top right indicating where video came from and more direct links to the channels in the description. :)

There are two types of reviewers on this world. Those who are worthy and have Batman and those who don't. You're worthy.
@OldAndNewVideoGames
@OldAndNewVideoGames Жыл бұрын
WOW! Thanks a lot! Really! :) But having Batman is a bit of an overstatement. I thought that we had a deal here, you know, that we were partners on this whole YT channel. I would come up with the videos, do the research and record everything. And then he would edit all of it, upload and prepare all the descriptions and such. And sometimes, once or twice a month, that's precisely what happens. And we're all good. But most of the time, he's either too lazy to do anything extra, so he just puts everything together, renders and uploads. Not giving it a thought. Also why in my last video one game was as loud as me. He heard it, but didn't bother fixing it. Or, if not lazy, then he's crushing somewhere on or around the couch on 15th or 16th candy bar that day. And he snores, man, oh boy, how he snores... All that said, I've not been a victim of any crime ever since he's here. That's important, right? I've not been one before either, but we're not talking about what was before he was here. ;)

There's a game here made by New Bits on the RAM and that sounds like a very fun name for a game developer company. :D I see that Shadow of the Devil really tried very hard to copy Dark Seed. But then it got a headache and it all went to hell. XD

Never knew Nathan Never but I have to disagree about the presentation. Just by looking at the video, the visuals are all over the place, for the simple reason that they are ripped from other games. I immediately recognised background elements (trees, rocks, waterfall) from Agony

Completely Phreaking Useless, CPU 😆 Medieval Warriors is an interesting turn-based battle game. Doesn't seem like the magazines liked it much. Rise of the Rabbits 2 looks great for a tiny game. Projectyle wasn't to my taste, but it was certainly a unique three-way air hockey derivative.

Yeah, I couldn't find any good footage for Medieval Warriors sadly. :/ And I would've loved to see Rise of the Rabbits 2 to become a full game and not just a demo for competition. It had makings of a console-quality platformer.
