I have that green musical biscuit jar thingy!! It plays the theme from “Love Story”. My grandma kept candy in it and there was no way to sneak candy without her hearing it!! I inherited it! 💚💚💚

Growing up, the amber Georgian glasses were on our table each and every night for dinner in the early 60's and beyond. My mother also had the candlestick pattern pieces. This video hit all the nostalgic buttons including the 'brown wood' that my grown kids now have from my parents home. I'm so glad my kids appreciate good quality furniture from years gone by - and they didn't paint it!!

I have a wardrobe just like that in my bathroom. I keep extra toiletries in the drawers. My husband built some shelving and we just set in in there to hold our towels. My mom thrifted it probably in the 1970s and my dad kept his clothes in it. I hung an old mirror above it. It’s a treasure 🥰
@rickeydonald47562 ай бұрын
Why, our school field trips always yielded such treasure. A Rainbow Bread pencil from the commercial bakery. A ruler from the Coca-Cola bottling plant. A wax paper cup of ice cream and a flat wooden spoon to eat it with from the train ride to the dairy farm. Now, what are you gonna give us Scott? I even changed my underwear and put on a clean striped cotton t-shirt for this trip. That ought to be worth something. Oh, the childhood memories are priceless.

Dear Scott…. Looking for a cure? There is NO cure. I’ve been a collector for 50+ years and the addiction gets worse. 😂. Oh that antique furniture! Fabulous. Those cradles were popular in the 1970s and I had one for my daughter in 1970. Not sure it was any safer than the old one you found, but we used them! Looking forward to your haul.

We sure did have a wonderful time shopping today! My favourite was the flow blue platter for only $1.59!! ( if memory serves…very cheap anyway, well done! ) 🇨🇦👏
@suespearmint75852 ай бұрын
That flow blue would be $20 bucks, easy where I live. The fantastic prices for multiples would all be individually priced and high for each piece. Scott, you could store linens, blankets, and quilts in that cradle. Between my eyes popping and my jaw falling, I'm a mess. So jealous and very, very happy for you, what treasures you discover. My favorite would be that syrup jar, the flow blue and can't wait to see the lamp. Oh, so happy you found that wardrobe for yourself. When I see items I like but can't justify buying, I'm always happy to see someone else buy them, knowing that someone will enjoy them again. Oh, and your lament about brown furniture is so on point. There is such great quality available for a steal, unlike the shoddy modern furniture. I keep waiting for you to get a store or sell pieces out of your basement. Happy thrifting.

I have, by way of my ex-husband's family...left to me...a beautiful American Brilliant cut-glass double-handed vase....yes, you can pick it up with both hands ...it IS heavy and it IS a beauty. It has a traditional vase shape of a wide-bottom narrowing as it goes up to its "waist" and where the handles are on each side, then flaring back out at the top! I fell in love with it many years ago. Right now, I enjoy looking at it behind glass in my dining room cabinet. About 20 years ago it was valued at around $300, so I figure it's at least that or likely higher value now. When I'm gone, I'll be giving it back to the family. You got a great deal on your bowl..,that's for sure!

That antique cradle would make a great plant holder. Make it so that it doesn't rock and stick some plastic at the bottom to protect it and fill it with plants. It would be beautiful on a vintage enclosed porch! And that Second Empire bookshelf would be fantastic in an old bathroom that doesn't have a closet, stuffed with fluffy towels and vintage toiletries.

Best show ever! All my favorite period antiques. Did you ever read the book Blue Willow about a Depression Era family and the Blue Willow plate was their best plate. This story struck home for me because my Mom grew up on a farm in Sanpete County, Utah and they had plate with apples on it in a transfer that they let company eat off during the great depression on the 1930's. Great show!
