Somehow I figured this video would get into electrum 😊 my personal oldest is an ngc graded roman denarius. I really like the extra information provided on the holders themselves with the ngc ancients

Cool! I learned a lot from this video, more similar to this would be a lot of fun. My oldest is an 1855 half dime, almost as old as yours. 😜😂

My oldest ancient silver coin is a Lydia Siglos issued by King Kroisos in 560-546 BC. My oldest ancient gold coin is a Semissis of the Eastern Roman emperor Justinian. My oldest US silver coin is a 1805 Draped Bust quarter while my oldest US gold coin is a 1835 Classic Head quarter eagle.

I have one coin estimated from 950 BC - 1200 BC.
@Dub-C_Coins3 ай бұрын
Most scholars agree that the oldest coins are the early striated examples of the Lydo-Milesan standard trites and hectes. Linzalone (LN1018), Weidauer Group II, 5 and Kayhan 680. Those pieces date to 650 BC at the earliest. An example sold via Heritage in May of last year for $120,000. You might want to check to see if perhaps your piece dates to 950-1200 AD.

@@Dub-C_Coins Been years since I glanced at it and today I did so again and re-learned that it's actually 1037 - 1041 BC
@MrMonkeySwag9629 күн бұрын
@@RealityTrailers it's impossible for any coin to be dated 1037-1041 BC. As Dub-C mentioned earlier, the earliest coins in history were minted in the 7th century BC. Your coin is most likely dated to 1037-1041 AD, which makes it medieval not ancient.
