Is it possible to prepare a similar kind of home, but with an exposed courtyard at the center, and two storeys. Much like a fusion of Nalukettu and these mud houses. Its beautiful. Its more like turning towards nature to make it more sustainable!!.

What is used in India for termite prevention? I live on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico and we have millions of them. I plan using some wood on my house and I´m investigating alternatives for it´s protection

I have very little knowledge. But my uncle used something called "black Japan" (a black thick paint kind of liquid) on the wood that he used in his house... Burning the upper layer of the wood, just to make it look black, helps in preventing termites.. Apart from these, spraying any termite killer spray, once a year, would help further in the prevention.

My village faces flood, water logging. During the rainy season rats and ants make holes in the floor and upto some height of walls. I'm interested in mud house. But scared of maintenance of it.
