Awesome reaction. Brainwashed is exactly right! The way she’s able to write from the perspective of an abuse victim who’s telling herself it’s real love cuz leaving feels impossible... She’s not glamorizing it - it’s how so many women truly feel while it’s happening and why it’s so hard to leave. I know what it’s like to be convinced that my abuser is my soulmate. I love that she’s not afraid to express the reality of the situation and she does it with such poetic genius.

This entire album was so intensely dark, and after watching this reaction, the songs make even more sense individually... especially from the POV of a victim of abuse. Thank you so much for these Lana reactions, I've been following since the first. Her work means so much to me personally.

"I could have died right then, cuz he was right beside me" have 2 meanings; either, bc he was there by her side she can die by his abuse, or that it's her expression of deep love toward him. Wow
@greenapple14703 жыл бұрын
Also the "i can hear violins" line has two meanings, with her love to him being described by the beautiful sound of violins, but also his violence (violins/violence) toward her.
@andressafreitas73162 жыл бұрын
@@greenapple1470 also "I can hear the sirens" has a double meaning, the sound of mermaids in her pink imaginative world and the Police sirens coming to rescue her

I escaped my sereverly abusive husband to the point where I lost my baby at his hands when I was 17, had to flee the country on the very same night he bought out the body bag and layed it out ready. His abuse has left me with life long illnesses and disabilities. This song hits me differently when i hear it coz I really understand it.

As someone who is sensitive to energy, I knew I felt drawn to your videos for a reason! Thank you for saying what you've said about abusers, thank you for making me feel and so many others feel safe here. It's nice to know that there are men out there that are willing to stand up for women who have been subjected to abuse. Bless you

See this is what I love to see in guys appreciating songs like lana’s. And he’s un elderly too which makes it more lovely and heartwarming. Forget about that masculinity shit about men and do whatever you want, respectfully.
@Georgia.J3 жыл бұрын
Did you call this gentleman elderly? I'm 29x and get called old, I feel the ageism in society is getting out of hand! I would say this gentleman is in his late forties and it certainly is nice you see Lana receive the complimentary reactions her beautiful music and sultry voice deserves. But to call mid to late forties elderly is daft and a little offensive. Retirement age is considered elderly. That is mid sixties. There are many healthy young looking forty year olds! Your neither young nor old in your forties tbh but elderly..no. Not even close.
@sarahstenske49842 жыл бұрын
I still stand by the opinion that emotional abuse is what sticks with you the most in the long term. The memories that you can't seem to shake after you finally get your mind back are all the times that person degraded you or convinced you that you were worthless. And the anger that you have towards yourself for not being strong enough at the time to fight back or believe otherwise.

At least in my opinion Jim can also be Jim Morrison and Jim can also be Jim Jones which is the cult leader evil bastard that got everybody killed drinking the Kool-Aid , yeah that guy , so I think it's a little bit of all of them . The jim beams too . She uses it cult references a lot in her music. I also feel that jim morrison vibe too . This is why she is epic .
