So great to see you back, as I've really missed this series. I'm looking forward to Amy's series, too. About the optimal quest completion guide, it's indeed made to minimise skilling, but it ruins the lore progression, which is an important aspect of the live RuneScape experience. I reckon it makes more sense for a completionist metagamer. It does make a playthrough go faster, though, so indeed it's a fair choice if you prefer it so. I don't argue either in favour or against it -- I just think it's a relevant choice you can make. I generally play sorting by Timeline. The mechanics comparison would be quite interesting, and I would indeed prefer it as you said.

I would like to see the comparison about each difference. Like, the player owned farm vs the farming guild. Or mining/smithing. I think it would be a good video to just exist as a point of information for people to look up. "Here is a video on this skill, if you are trying out one of the games". Of course, the thing *I* want the most would be a "here's a complete 1 to max guide on this skill in RS3 and in OSRS". Which... might be beyond the current scope right now. Of course, it being in this series is fine too. It will naturally come up with progressing. I love the idea of following the "optimal quest guide" and seeing how it diverges how you play the game. Just for each account always trying to get to the next quest as the goal.

I really like the play experience through both games. The old school of "why is this boss kicking my butt?" and the RS3 of "Why is the interface kicking my butt?" Honestly what makes this series really worth watching is your commentary. I won't say no to more content, but wouldn't want you to reduce your time on the progression to create side comparison vids. Side note: I primarily watch these vids for show tunes.

Personally I'm happy for this to be more of a progress series but i like the focus on comparing the two side by side e.g do one quest in osrs then rs3 , grind a skill to a certain level in rs3 then in osrs, otherwise it will just feel like you're watching two independent series that aren't connected. I think the side by side progression is what makes this series feel unique.

I wouldn't use protean logs to do firemaking since it's like the cheapest and fastest skill to level up with bought logs.

I mostly use the logs for fletching xp, and it only lets you do fletching and fire making together I think!

Regarding your content creation question ➡️ personally I'd love to see an OSRS vs RS3 comparison but I feel like I've seen many videos that directly compare their features. I think you'd not bring much novelty to the table in this sense. However what I miss in those videos is someone comparing how these two games FEEL like. How you feel during and after playing the games. I used to play in 2003-2008 and I get a lot of OSRS noostalgia but when I play OSRS (and I have time to play pc games like 1-2 times per week only), I feel like it's a bit more complex version of cookie clicker. You just click and grind and click and grind. I think j could use my time in a more meaningful way. The magic and the sense of wonder I remember from 2006 feels a bit lost to me. 😔 I used to love OSRS quests but now even those feel purposefully stretched with a lot of running. And grinding. So I am debating something I avoided before and that's starting rs3 whose UI and overall design felt too overwhelming. ➡️ For a casual player like me, I feel it offers more immersion (that's all I need, again I dont play PC games often), sense of wonder over a giant world to discover and healthy magical escapism. I don't play games for numbers, just that feeling of wonder. I know the decision is up to me but I am looking for people comparing the two games on a more abstract/feeling level than direct mechanics comparisons.

I totally get what you mean! You should definitely try RS3! My advice is don’t try to learn everything! Stick to what you already know first to get used to the new mechanics! Then slowly introduce yourself to new features one at a time! You can even switch the UI to look more like OSRS if that makes you feel more comfortable!

I prefer RS3 and that’s the one I’ve played more! The quality of life improvements, the new quests, the additional content, and the updated graphics are what do it for me!
